I don't want to see anyone complaining about k-pop being boring because they clearly haven't watched+listened to this. Loved everything about this. MV like a dracula+hitchcock film, song with operatic and musical tendencies...legitimately amazing.

what those people mean when they say Kpop is boring is really, " I decided I don't like kpop and won't give it a chance so that means its boring". So sad! I know lots of people who aren't into kpop but are still amazed with the mvs and vocals and dance and such. They respect it while not being into it. And then there are people who say its boring...

Tbh it's not an easy genre to listen to. I've never liked Kpop and I've tried to listen to it more than once. Now I like some artists, but it definitely can be boring. To me, the majority of it is boring or repetitive, and I don't see myself get into it or being amazed by it in general. Many like me genuinely try, and maybe it's simply not a genre for us, like I bet some other genre isn't the one for you guys. Any kind of music deserves a try ofc though. But saying it's boring doesn't necessarily mean we disrespect it.

It's def worthy of conversation, but I find it pretty curious to dump in a random comment on an MV which - if you do decide to listen to more songs in kpop or watch more kpop MVs - is decidedly unique.

I was simply replying to your "I don't want to see anyone complaining about k-pop being boring because [...]", which was a huge generalisation on how people feel about the genre. A great exception like Changmin is still - exactly! - an exception. People who genuinely dislike Kpop don't even call it boring, but worse than that. (Most of the time with blatant racist comments too). You sound a bit defensive over nothing.

Changmin has always sounded good in bright, playful songs like Rat Tat Tat, Ocean, High Time, I Just Can't Quit Myself, etc. but I feel like he never had the opportunity to show that side of him in his Korean discography. This MV is so fun and shows his great singing skills! LOVE it!

Yes, as a non Korean-Japanese speaker, I enjoy his voice in J-discography more than K side. I used to think that it depends on vocal type but now I know I was wrong. Some of K-tracks such as A person likes tear and bside in Catch Me album really suit him but not the whole. I'm really happy to see him got the recognization as he deserves.

I know quite a few people I saw on Twitter got interested in them, specifically Changmin, due to his fever performance at SMTOWN 2022.

It's funny because at one point all the 1st generation fans where saying the same thing about tvxq. And it's weird to see tvxq now being used as the same example. Tvxq are still monster sellers in Japan and Korea and this song will definitely be trending in Korea as with everything tvxq has done. Even jaejong who has literally been banned from TV appearance up until last year made record numbers in Korea for a single male guest appearance. So they still can pull big numbers across Asia but tvxq have never been about international boundaries they've always focused on there path and have stuck to it since, they have gathered there large fanbase over the years and have done it with just talent.

알프레드 히치콕 감독의 영화를 본 사람으로써 여기저기 작품들이 녹아들어있네요. 처음 시작은 욕실에서 커튼이 뜯어지면서 범죄의 피해자로 나오는 "사이코"를 보여주고, 다음으론 침대에 누우면서 나타나는 붉은 선은 "현기증"을 의미하면서 바닥은 스탠리 큐브릭 감독의 "샤이닝"에서의 호텔을 보여준다는 것. 타자기를 치는 것은 "미저리" 느낌도 나는 것 같고, 새들이 날아다니는 공간으로 달려 나가는 것은 "새"를 생각나게 하고, 뱀파이어처럼 보이는 장면을 지나 "새", "현기증"을 지나 다시 처음에 시작한 "사이코"로 돌아온 것이 멋졌습니다. 전부터 노래 잘 듣고 있는데 제가 아는 영화들이 나와서 이번 앨범 더 관심이 갑니다.

팬심을 빼고 들어도 노래 진짜 너무 좋고 중독성 미친듯.... 얼굴은 뭐 당연 최고시구요 19년차임에도 이런 새로운 컨셉의 뮤비를 볼 수 있다는게 너무 좋음 그리고 어떤 컨셉을 시켜도 찰떡으로 잘 어울린다는게ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 아니.. 선공개되는 수록곡마다 얼굴, 음색, 노래, 컨셉, 영상 모두 내 취향 때려박았는데 타이틀은 어떻다는거야ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

@Marilyn Shim a lot of people on twitter mainly got interested in TVXQ especially Changmin after seeing his Fever performance at SMTOWN 2022 so they would tweet about fever and we would hype up his album so thats probably where some of the views came from

This really has the vibe of Freddie Mercury Living on my own. I love that song and mv. Not really digging the constant high notes, would have preferred for some more variations in tone to break the tension a bit, it also doesn't exercise much Max's voice to my opinon. This is a great MV though and I'm glad to see his new styles.

@@haruminairen4039 I've been following dbsk since 2007 so i know what songs Max sings, i check out all his releases. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean i can't critique his music, I'm a music lover before a fan so if there's parts I don't like I will say it. For this song, though I understand the constant high notes is to portray the maniac hectic feeling i still found it grating for how long it went on, therefore a bit of a break in between would've made it better. This is my opinion, after all, music is subjective.

I absolutely love this video. I have been a fan of DBSK, and I have been following them for over 13 years and ChangMin is no joke. Their craft set the standards so high. This video is one of my favorites. TOP 5 best music videos I have ever seen in my life. It is just so cool, and chic. ✨ Every single detail was so well though, and so well done. His vocals are so fierce, like always. The costumes are fitting like gloves complementing the makeup artistry. And the colors are perfectly matching the background. It's insane. The song's structure reminds me of Queen. The funny and cleaver lyrics matching the cinema references, redoing Hitchcock's iconic scenes. Great direction. Great acting. Great performance. Everything is just so ~ chef's kiss ~ URRRRGGG, THIS MAN SERRRRRRRVES!

When I saw Max Changmin's Maniac he to a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's the birds, psycho, including Max pay another tribute to Jack Nicholson in The shining as Max during the typewriting scene! The best part is is Max was on the cover of Time person of the year.

The music is upbeat and has a musical vibe, the acting is comedic, yet there are so many references to horror movies such as Psycho and The Shining. It's just so so cool! And let's not forget his amazing voice. Really, I don't think anyone can pull this off like he does 심창민 최고야!! 👍❤

This is a feature film - I love the vibes! The opening scene is a remake of the Hitchock film Psycho from 1960 (my fave movie) and crows are a reference to another Hitchcock film called The Birds. The red/black/white room is like Twin Peaks; the hotel and writing scenes remind me of the Shining! UGH HE'S SO GOOD AND SO IS THE AMAZING CREW.

Maniac by Max Changmin is mind blowing music video, start off that Max in the movie Psycho, then step into talk show with host and actress,my favorite is Max was in the cover of Time: Person Of The Year magazine cover, I also love his tattoo,but the best part is I really love his voice ( masterpiece)! The production sets are excellent, the actresses and the actor are amazing. I will definitely get Max Changmin's album! Shout out to Max Changmin's stylists making he so handsome!

When TVXQ Truth MV debuted I was confused why it didn't even reach 1M in 24 HRS Meanwhile 2022 Changmin reaches 3.2M in 23 HRS FOR JUST A PROMOTIONAL VIDEO the growth thoo

Mostly because SM doesn’t promote their MV videos like other companies. The excuse is that they are already so big that they will out sell concert tickets and albums. But if they actually did promote them like they should their fan base would grow and sell more albums.

What a versatile musician TVXQ are, esp Changmin in this MV. The music sounds musical drama and have classical rock element and styles. Maniac have a Queen’s vibe👍👍

I love this song. It has a musical sound to it. I love that he's experimenting with different genres of music. I can't wait for his full album release.

Our king is back!🔥 This song got a lot of colours and reminded me of films like "Psycho" and "The Great Gatsby" ~1920s vibes with a modern twist! Changmin's and the dancers' styling also got me those "Edward Scissorhands" and "Black Swan" vibes! I'm so gonna look forward to his comeback and receive my physical copy of the album!! 😊 P.S. His abs reminded me of his Halloween cosplay of Ace (One Piece) too in the SM Party ✨!
