This performance just so sums up SM. They have so many very talented vocalists, that they just have to decide what song they want performed, and then select what combination of artists will give them the 'feel' they are looking for. And whatever that is, it will be great.

What you just experienced with Max/Changmin's (from TVXQ), Taeyeon's (from Girls' Generation) and Winter's (from aespa) "Priority" live performances is what makes SMTown concerts so special. SMTown concerts are on a whole other level because you get to see all of SM's groups and artists all at one concert. Normally each group or artist will perform 2 or 3 of their most iconic or newest songs, etc. and then we also get unique collaboration performances with members from different groups like you just saw. You can hear even more great collaborations if you listen to the "2022 Winter SMTown: SMCU Palace" album, which this is a B-side track on. SMTown collaboration performances are often performances that you will never see anywhere else, so it makes for an extra fun element to these concerts. SMTown concerts are usually held every year and they are often part of a tour, so they are held at several different places around the world, giving fans a chance to see SM artists traveling together. Changmin is the main vocalist and youngest member of the group/duo TVXQ, who debuted in 2003 at 15 years old. The day after Christmas this year will be TVXQ's 21th anniversary. They are SM's most senior group that is still active, but U-Know and Changmin are still younger than, or the same age as, many of the members of the legendary groups who came after them within their generation. TVXQ are not just ballads, but they do have the best and most well known ballads ever put out in the kpop industry. TVXQ are GODS and LEGENDS and were created as a group that would be perfect. I've been an audio engineer for 28 years,and I think this is the most frustrating live performance of any SM artists on KZfaq. These are three of the most talented and experienced vocalists in SM Entertainment history, but you can't tell from the audio on this video. It's live, but it is extremely over-compressed, which robs all of the energy from the performances. It's also been pitch tuned so much, the performances sound fake. They didn't need to do this. I love, love, LOVE Taeyeon, and it is painful for me to hear her voice here.

the performance was live but it also had some pretty noticeable pitch corrections going on, which in my opinion, was 99% likely not needed at all. unfortunately, the artists themselves don't always get a say in whether post-production uses pitch correction or not. for winter being a robot/doll, i think she must have been extremely nervous singing with taeyeon and changmin. their groups are not only legends in kpop but on top of that, they're legends within their legendary groups. those two were the most popular/among the most popular while their respective groups were active and after their groups became inactive, those two continued on to become THE most popular from the other members. so to put into perspective, she's not only singing with two legends but she's also singing with two idols who debuted in the industry when she was merely 2 (changmin's group) and 6 years old (taeyeon's group).
