Max was brilliant as Rom. He is a phenomenal actor who brought life a multifaceted character. I remember his appearance in "Sister Act" and thought how much he stole that scene and how cool it would be to see more of him. Then i realized i already had in TNG. Then to see him on DS9 very soon thereafter was a treat. Rom was hilarious, but he also acted some fine touching and emotional scenes as well. He really is a great actor of immense talent. He deserves a much bigger career than stupid Hollywood has given him. He demonstrated a great rage and depth to his acting that most "superstars" do not actually have. Thank God for DS9 and those who hired him. Max is just awesome.

I wanted to see the actor behind the Rom character. He does a great job bringing the Rom character to life. The funny thing is when I saw the head ferengi even with all that make up on I knew it was Wallace Shawn. He was a hoot.

Max was never going to win a beauty contest. The Ferengi makeup didn't help. So why is Rom so fricking adorable? It's because the character is played by an artist that can express the very best human qualities in the body of an alien. Rom is kind, loyal, generous, and courageous. He's my favorite background character of DS9.

I never understood why Geordi is blind and has to wear an ugly visor with heat-map vision. If the technology is so advanced, they should have been able to make him see from the day he was born.

TNG was largely conceived of by a man born in the 1920s. He grew up with different influences surrounding technology but the show was so great and forward thinking even cringe first season TNG is better than anything after Enterprise.
