Living on Kungsholmen near Max Martins studio in Stockholm in the 90's was kind of crazy. Randomly running into Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Celine Dion and others on the street when just going to drink a beer at the bar next to it.

He is the GOAT among songwriters and producers.In 2016 he wrote his 22 US n1 for J.Timberlake...then nothing special in the next three years but in 2020 he returned with a song titled Blinding lights the second most successfull song in the hustory after candle in the wind1997 dedicated at the late Princess Diana.This guy is a gift.Thanks to great Denniz Pop also.

Max Martin realistically should have a legacy on par with the Beatles. I like the Beatles music much better especially from Rubber Soul onwards, but you can't ignore the fact that Max Martin's music has absolutely dominated mainstream Pop for the last 20+ years. He is most certainly a genius when it comes to producing catchy pop tracks. Most musicians never even sniff a #1 hit and this guy has made more than 20.

How can I do that? I'm working on becoming a successful rapper
@s1me007
@s1me007 3 жыл бұрын
@@godsmoke7678 honestly idk much about rap, but based on my experience, my advice would be to take some kind of cool lesson that will objectively improve your skills where needed. For instance, I do pop music and I took a cheap private teacher in music theory. It makes me much stronger in my songwriting, because I feel like I'm actually improving every week, I get actual objective feedback (without the hurting part because the teacher has your best interest in mind), and it makes me ever more confident. It's a virtuous cycle, and cooler stuff have come to me since (3 years since I began) Also, when stuff does come to you, make sure you ALWAYS record it on the spot (on your phone for instance). You'll never remember it otherwise, even you're 100% convinced you will. Also make sure you translate the full idea in the memo: describe the mood, the spirit, the famous songs it would sound like... Do this even when the idea comes in your sleep. Do the effort and wake up to record it. Imo sleep is when the brain is at its most creative because it kind of lets go of any conscious control, it meshes all your repressed thoughts. At some point you'll even be able to recognize a cool melody in a dream, and realize that you are dreaming and you should wake up to record it (at least that's where I'm at) If you do this; when you want to write a track, or you're stuck e.g. you have a killer chorus but you miss a good verse; you can go back to your memos and work with that. Honestly it works like a charm Just my 2 cents :)

As someone who was a kid that had to listen to this song endlessly in the late 90s I have to say it's a bit satisfying to learn that the invention of the song came to its creator like a late night urge to go to the bathroom. I'm hoping/guessing this is what most of his hit song creation is like.

maybe in terms of how many #1's they had, but how much profit they actually made out of those songs (and the not #1's). Either way, if Max Martin still hasn't surpassed them now, he'll most likely do in a few years, 'cause he's still young and active, and his hits don't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

@@shesbaldbutiwould well, because Lennon didn't live much longer, but they would've probably ended up working with other people, like McCartney ultimately has done. Max Martin only really works with one collaborator at a time, and the rest are usually the actual singer (which probably just writes two or three words to claim a credit) or people related to these singers, like featured rappers, etc. None of Max collaborators have such a record of hits like him, so it's obvious he is the one with the magic.
