This hike took place on Sunday, September 01, 2019 in the Appalachian Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest, NC and in the Unaka Ranger District of Cherokee National Forest, TN.
Max Patch Mountain via Lemon Gap
Distance - 10.9 miles
Elevation gain - 2,380 feet
Time - 4 hours and 40 minutes
Bluff Mountain via Lemon Gap
Distance - 7.6 miles
Elevation gain - 2,440 feet
Time - 3 hours and 15 minutes
Total Hike
Distance - 18.9 miles
Elevation gain - 4,915 feet
Time - 7 hours and 55 minutes

It's tough hiking in the heat. But then add some climbs and it can be brutal. Thanks for all the factual info in this video.

I found your channel last night and I’m very impressed with your knowledge of the mountains! Amazing! In terms of the Google Earth map you showed, how do I find the trails? Also, do you study the maps in order to learn all the mountains? I drove from Franklin to Mt. Airy on the backroads and it was amazing! I would appreciate it if when you have time to respond. I have so many trips planned out now thanks thanks to you!

Google Earth does not show trails like this. Usually you can only see roads and some forest roads. I import my GPS tracks into Google Earth and make virtual tour video captures. I own almost every map and guide book available for NC and study those a lot, that's how I remember the geography.
