My mom passed away from a long illness tonight with this playing in the background. It wasn’t on purpose-just popped up w/the algorithm-but it was appropriately soothing and beautiful. Thanks for being some of her last sounds.

This song makes me think of someone far away from our lives. That person is now creating something. Perhaps a song, perhaps a story, perhaps working on a scientific breakthrough. Something that will reach us in the future. Something bright and powerful enough to change us in the best possible way. The great ideas that set humankind forward happen in silence, on restless nights where wild dreams embrace reasonable thoughts. Thank you. This is perhaps my Max Richter's favorite song. Thanks for the upload 🥲

so true!,.. i just lost my dad not long ago and i find myself Reminiscing more and more it was our 1st christmas without him and its so hard to see my mother miss him so much ... cherrish what you have and tell them you love them before its too late no matter how much of a "tough guy" you are

Indeed , what I wouldn't give for a moment with 3 friends who all died from alcohol addiction in their early fortiesauch a cruel illness so please be kind yo those who struggle. With any form of addiction , they are very sick in mind and body.

The greater we can feel love and pleasures, the greater we can feel the depths of sadness and pains. All of us who love our people, will go through the suffering of their deaths. It is inevitable. I can understand why this opening song would remind you of him. I lost my dog a few years ago and this just reminds me of so many memories. I'm not quite sure how to describe that feeling. a memory rather it is good or bad but there are there that tug and pull our heartstrings and makes us reach as if we can live through them just once more.

I understand your grief. I miss my sweet boy of 13 1/2 years, my best friend. I think the pain of losing our canine soulmates is always with us, but we find a way to move on…accepting that pain is the price we pay for such profoundly deep love.

First fell in in love with this song in Arrival. Then hearing it in Last of Us made me fall in love all over again. The music paired perfectly with the scene.

I guess I heard it in The Shutter Island for the first time too, but I remembered it after watching Diconnect (2012 movie, 100% I recommend). And after it I became Max Richter's fan. Also this masterpiece was in Toga. I think this composition was in a perfect spot in every movie that it appeared. You know, it is hard to explain what do I feel when I listen it, sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's calming, sometimes it's hurting, sometimes it comes with a fear of death, sometimes it comes with a fear of wasting time, life. It brings emotions, it brings thinking. And it is beautiful.

Currently listening to this while formulating my future plans to build successful businesses and accomplish my dreams. Also, the art that goes along with this song is the embodiment of my emotions much of the time while I work or am just thinking. It's a feeling, to me, of driving on a chilly, foggy night through the mountains, surrounded by pine trees, contemplating life, thinking of how proud I am of myself for coming this far, and most importantly, knowing that this is a brief respite from the chaos and wonder of the world, where time seems to stand still in the foggy night.
