I partly agree with you Cameron. I saw the post race interview. There was already a relaxed atmosphere between Lewis and Max when Lando came in later, clearly frustrated. Lando did not find Max's joke funny indeed. But I very much doubt whether Lando and especially his team boss Zak have enough self-knowledge to improve. You need to have people around you who dare to be critical. I especially thought Zak came across as self-righteous in his interviews. Is he the right team boss to develop you further? We'll see.

Lando does not have the killer instinct Max has. Lando is going to make for a great top 5 finisher over his career, but Max owns him. Lando is hungry, he reminds me of the story of the old bull and the young bull where they're standing up on the hill looking down at a herd of female cows & says to the old bull "lets run down & shag one of them cows" where the old bull turns and says "no, lets walk down and shag em all". If Lando does become a serious threat to Max, and gets in the way of his goals there's no doubt in my mind Max will park the RB20 on top of Landos helmet. Lando does not have the balls to do the same. Up until the point where his balls drop, he will do nothing, because he can do nothing.

Lando is a great driver but he's dealing with a future GOAT. Norris is still lacking that composure when it comes to decision making during races which Max has it for a few years now.

More than this i think Max understood that Lando is ready to step outside the lines drawn by friendship, I actually think that Max has a soft spot for Lando and I was scared that might hurt him competiveness wise. But I think that this is the start of him drawing his own line.

First blood. Max raced fair and square until Silverstone in 21 against Lewis. But when Lewis ran him off (on purpose) and celebrated like he won the WC, he woke up the lion in Max. If Lando start doing these things too often, the same will happen again. Then Lando will be nowhere. It's better to let the lion sleep.

Lando has some ways to go before he even comes close to Max's resolve. He may pull off some wins but Max is on another level right now even with a slower car.

Lando is a fantastic racer, but also a spoiled little rich kid. He can’t admit a mistake he made. This isn’t the first time.

Depends on the cars obviously. But while Lando is a VERY good driver. An incredibly good driver. I think in similar/equal cars to Verstappen, I’d say George and Charles seem like the stronger drivers to challenge Max in the future. Not to say Norris can’t. Absolutely not. But only that Russell & Leclerc seem tougher opponents for Verstappen than Norris does atm. As they’ve already shown much more ruthlessness when dealing with Max already than Lando has so far. Example: After the Baku 2023 Sprint. George called Max’s post-race attitude towards him (George) “pathetic” and saying that Max seemed to have “spat his dummy out” because George raced Max pretty ruthlessly just like Max does to everyone else.

Lando is not on the same level as Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso or even Leclerc... He is too inconsistent and does not have the same racing craft. He will have to improve a lot more if he wants to challenge for that world title. Unless McLaren gives him a car that is significantly faster than all the others.

Lando has a quiet confidence and I believe he will push Max but be fair. He may cross the margin on accident. But I believe Max respects Lando enough to remain friends should that happen. Max knows how good Lando is.

Everyone loved the "No, lets go for Max" comment. But i think thats what lost him the race. He could of undercut max and that 2 second gap would have possibly changed to dive bombing max at some point for the lead. Red Bull and Max always goes for the fastest overall strategy and not worry about what everyone else is doing. Lando has to start racing his race and he could have 2 or 3 wins possibly this year.

Max considers Lando a friend, but I don't think they are. Lando seems a bit duplicitous to me. Now that he has the fastest car he's trying to start with the (mind) games....

Max has only one thing on his mind and that is wiping the floor with Lando (or any other driver, for that matter.) .. and he's doing damned good job. No, they're not pals.
