Being a public figure who represents multiple multi-billion dollar companies, the pinnacle of the sport of professional racing, and FIA, Max is showing his absolute professionalism here in his reservedness, and a calm and collected delivery of how he sees the situation; it legitimately could not be any other kind of a "rage", because any other kind of "rage" would not be accepted of Him here.

Same happend to me one year ago. I competed in the 2.4h of Dayton race in Raceroom. First Esportsevent ever. After 1h30min in the race i‘ve lost connection to the game. I prepared myself 1 1/2 month for this event. I was pissed. All that for nothing. Luckily this was the only time i had this problem. But I can confirm that this is absoulutely frustrating.

Welcome to the Motorsports Games experience. These fools have literally put their stench on every property they've had a hand in just publishing, let alone developing. If you want a laugh, just look up all the bugs and issues surrounding the launch of 'NASCAR 21 Ignition'. Game released without working officiating features, so A.I. cars would just run over each other, and didn't pit at the right time. It's truly incredible how fundamentally bad they are.

no, they need to get of the rFactor 2, revoke the licence and move over to other stuff like iRacing. rFactor 2 is notoriously broken, I remember those random issues happening like 5-6 years ago and they are still not fixing those, not to mention Motorsport Games practices with buying out every possible licence and pretty much sitting on them. I do not see them provide a IndyCar game, or a properly working one.

@@DeMichel93 RF2 is great but they really need to sort the issues, it's like DCS in the flight sim world, plagued with weird issues like that. Iracing I don't think is the right choice either, look at 24hr spa this year with everyone in the field driving on the grass, and not to mention other smaller issues, if they could sort RF2 stability then it would be good for this kind of racing, but alas every year the same issues occur!

That's enough, how long can people give another chance to rF2, every year since 2020 there are such issue with this event, In my opinion that's enough. Somebody else should get a chance to host this race. iRacing is pretty much the only platform that can handle such event at this time.

Cause without effort he is gonna get demolished for sure, max puts in the effort. Plus when lewis grew up simracing wasnt as much of a thing, the newer generation drivers gonna be more inclined to get on the sim in their free time.

it’s not even just connection issues, the organisor and rFactor are basically trying to shift blame by saying “people were DDOS’ing the server” as if it isn’t *their* responsibility to build redundant server capacity (like having the server clients connect to redirect to the actual lobby, for example)

A lot of these sim drivers prepare for the race like their life depends on it. Couldn’t imagine the disappointment I would have if put in this situation. Pretty sad we won’t get to see Max anymore in this race but hopefully it’s a wake up call to fix these issues and then he will come back.

You know what's the funny thing is? I've been racing on this game since 2018 and I've been kicked out of the server once, because of my connection problems. So tbf this is funny that there is so many leagues and they don't have any problems with connection, but when it comes to most prestigious race, servers are dying. As Max has said this is incompetence of organizers, but not the game itself

Honestly everyone who races any online racing games knows what hes going through. So I don't blame him for being mad. iRacing really is the best racing game period. It doesn't have these stupid problems & has pro officials . F1 games / rFactor / ACC all got problems and you should never take them fully serious. Hope to see Max do some iRacing stuff in the future!

Sadly, this event was nothing but a big cluster. They really got screwed out of P1, it's really a shame. Needless to say this will probably be the last event held on RF2 like this. All valid points by Max, to spend 24 hours wasted but thing's out of there control and poor decisions.

I understand Max his frustration, started to race F1 online with F1racingsimulation back in 1997 and getting disconnected was part of the experience. But these days with all the high speed connections and servers, it should not be happening. I would like to see Max investing in a company like Kunos and get involved in building a simulation game of high standards.

In 10-20 years people will most likely move on and mature and when we look back at how many x titles he gets people will mostly only know the x and not the how. Schumacher actually played dirty to get his titles like in 94’ but we don’t talk about it, Max did nothing but happen to benefit from his only bit of luck the entire year on the first and I don’t know how you are claiming the second is illegitimate but he won the time with about 5 races to go, Ferrari fumbled the season blame them.

rF2 has the best netcode when it comes to car contact, but what can you do when people's internet goes down and server+backup get DDoS. Nothing like this happened in the last 2 years on rF2 since they fixed some server crash exploit

@@Arcadepown This was the result of a DDoS attack, and that is something you cannot 100% protect against. One of the streamers in the event leaked the IP they were connected to, which is not suppose to happen. It's not the organizers fault, the one to blame are the script kiddies that attacked their servers.

Such a huge own goal for sim racing and the prestige of sim racing. We're lucky to have drivers like Max enter these competitions and it raises the profile of esports, but they killed all that positive goodwill by using Rfactor. Move the thing to iracing and you won't have these issues.

If something costs 2000 to participate, (and takes months to prepare) it should at least be organized well. I kind of doubt the DDOS excuse, it's probably just that the server can't keep up. But even if it was a DDOS, there are a lot of ways to prevent that. Whatever it is, the developers just seem incompetent.

@Constipated Parker No, being disconnected is not equivalent to mechanical failure, because the way your car performs is completely dependent upon team and driver. Being disconnected is equivalent to your car or your race being sabotaged by someone or something else beyond your control.

Surely max spent enough money on registration fees, team registration, publicity for the team, plus he allowed the use of his name his time and his person for this event he had to get his own simulator which is not cheap and surely he was training for the competition. And now you he is thinking... they take a lot of money from me, they take my time, they use me to advertise, get sponsors, get an audience, and then what did they do with all that? They took the money and put a console to manage an event that everyone sees?

People have to pay a hefty entry fee which is like 2K dollars or euros and they prep for this very race for months, there is I believe some prize money and if RFactor is hosting the race they should have something in place to prevent from ppl disconnecting, if not, then another platform might take up on the hosting like Iracing

he's really implicate in Team REDLINE and Esport in general. He played a lot with Lando at Iracing. And if I remember he have some world record in hotlap (iracing probably)

To be honest, it sounds like he has a UPS that is beeping in the background when Max is speaking, and if that's the case, it could be that there was some sort of power surge or something and the UPS kicked in, causing a network interruption. The only reason I bring this up is because it has happened to me numerous times.
