Hi everybody, here is a new version of the song ! It has been recorded live in a church in France. I like it because it's very expressive. Hope you'll enjoy it !! Listen here : IDOL.lnk.to/WhereIsMyMind

i think this is the best version because it sounds so soft and played with passion... not sure if its only because of the use of another piano or something else but i love it

Imagine when we die, this song plays and the credits roll. The credits are all the different people that influenced and played a role in shaping who we were throughout our lives. Then it shows clips of us at our happiest and at our saddest. And moments of us doing random little things that were seemingly simple, drawing, cooking, singing a a tune, playing with our dogs but revealing the good times that we didn't realize we were in.

I really, really wish that this is what actually happens when we die. I'm one of the few persons who actually wants to see the credits at the end of a movie. It's a way for me to finish the movie by going mentally through all the things that happened. It would be the greatest thing if I would be able to do this when I'm dying. Seeing all the people and highlights (positive & negative) of my life, it would help to accept death and let life go with a smile.

A song about heroin addiction for a wedding. Was your first dance to Tool's Sober? ahaha 10/10 this didn't happen. The guy is fishing and weirdly. I'd want my wife to use a song that meant something to the both of us and it wouldn't be a surprise. At the end of the day you are starting a union of people and you are claiming it was started in such a manner? PFFFT. Literally Dan Hamon has taken the piss out of this idea with Radiohead's Creep. About people wanting to use weirdly inappropriate songs for occasions.

I always listen to this song as a reflection. A reflection of my life and how far I've come. Sure, I had a good childhood, a family who have loved and supported me through the years. I became the first person in my family to graduate college. But I can't help but feel like it's a hollow victory. I spent my life just knowing to do one thing, going to school, doing work and coming home. Living in fear, stress, anxiety and distrust from other people after a shitty middle school and high school experience. Being frazzled from any communication with someone. Never hung out with anyone I knew, no parties, no invites. I've had no relationships with anyone because of that fear, and not knowing or understanding how to commit to someone. After graduation, I came to the conclusion that if I die young or old, I am destined to be alone. And now, here I am, just turned 24, no friends, no significant other, stuck in with my parents, nowhere near to finding job, even more so because of the pandemic, I sit in my home, worrying that my family will see me as a failure, that gradating college was for nothing. A life I've undoubtly wasted and have lived in endless regret. I'm sorry if this sounds whiny and complainy, but I doubt anyone will read this or care. So whatever.

Hey my friend. I read your totally honest account of how you were feeling a couple of years back. I was at that age when I had accomplished pretty much the same as you and felt exactly the same. The total depths of despair and feeling nearer to the precipice with every passing day. Well, if you can hang on to yourself you will find from the deepest recesses of your soul a fountain that you can tap into and it is always there when you are the lowest ebb. Only when you have experienced the feelings and absolute anguish that you have eloquently described will you realise that there are mysterious forces at work and that you are already tuning into them subconsciously. Please continue on this life path because it is a precious gift from where we do not know or really understand. Nobody wants to suffer the angst and torment but you have and am extremely are aware of their existence. Also, I know it's hard, but try and appreciate your parents in the present moment. We never know when they will depart this existence but when they do it can be a mind shattering experience. I have been through these emotions so try and love them the best you can while they are still here with you. Remember to take one day at a time and really feel the moment by moment sensation of that awareness - it will bring you unrivalled joy and peace you know you deserve. Try not to be so hard on yourself; you have already accomplished a great deal in such a short time. Be patient even though it pains you to feel low and disillusioned at times. The magic is believing things can change and that you are the helmsman that determines that fate. It's always in your hands and you have already proved to yourself that you innate capabilities that will hold you in good fortune as the years will surely pass. There is nothing wrong with being an introvert and super aware of how you experience your emotions. It is a blessing and curse at the same time but will eventually get used to It as you experience more of life. Life is devine chaos. Just keep using your intuition and you will find that your being on earth will become more sacred as you consciously become attuned to the fact that you are breathing. Believe me, you will once again feel the light within you burn brightly. Don't be scared to acknowledge and accept the power that resides within you; it is an energy and it belongs to you - for eternity. It will never let you down even when times in your life appear hopeless. The more you seek the wiser you will become - just keep faith in your imagination and let it fly.

I know that everyones experience is life different, but I felt the same way in my mid-twenties, with a lot of life experiences parallel to yours. I was waiting tables after graduating college with a deep feeling of loneliness and longing with the sense of no purpose. I was struggling to make rent and the pressure of college debt. I'm now 40, have my own home and am married to a beautiful, smart, funny and passionate wife with a good career completely different from the one I chose to study in college. It's your choice to accept it, but if I could offer one piece of advice it would be that none of us know where we are going to end up, and life definitely has it's struggles but it is all part of a journey-try to enjoy it. If you keep an open mind and work to not fear change sometimes taking a chance on an opportunity could be the thing that changes your life for the better. I wish you the best of luck friend, trust in yourself, you are doing great.

It’d be a failure if you accepted it as it is but in your comment I sensed a lot of understanding of your situation and as much as it is depressing sometimes it’s also the fuel for the inevitable changes that come next 🙂 at least you’re not lying to yourself like half of this NPC planet.

This song always seems to find me when I need it most. It reminds me of all my failures and struggles in my life (past and present) all in under 3 minutes. At times I feel so helpless that life is far too painful to continue to endure. I am overcome with emotion every time I hear it. It forces something within my soul to come out and cry. Bless you for this remarkable work…

I found this song some years ago and thought it was beautiful, then as time went on I forgot the name of it and couldn't remember how the tune went or anything. Then tonight I was watching that Mr Robot show (which i think is brilliant) heard the song on it and was completely taken back. The first words I said when i heard it were "Oh my god, I haven't heard that song in years... they used it" I couldn' be happier finding this song again. It truly is a masterpiece.

This seems like a song that would thrive with allot of depth and layering, maybe even more then one person playing, in Ur opinion Y do people keep covers of this song so simple? I've listened 2 multiple covers een the orchestral versions seem shallow. This is by far the best version I've hear is why I ask, I'm genuinely curious not trying 2 be a troll dick.

When I heard this, my heart wept. It is such a beautiful cover and a wonderful example of music and it's many genres and the magic of it all. The original is of course a classic and FB is an absolute genius who used simplicity to illustrate complex emotions. This piece really hits that idea right on the nose. I've now listened to this track more times than I can count. It is music like this that reminds me why I fell in love with the power of music in the first place. I see that there are many conduits that brought listeners to this site; tv shows, movies, video games, and it's great to see you all here...enjoying :)

First heard this on Pandora- I really enjoy covers of popular songs redone as instrumental, particularly the Section Quartet's version of "The Man Who Sold the World" by David Bowie. Your cover of this Pixie's song is so rich. There is simplicity and a complexity occurring simultaneously, and also this oxymoronic upbeat sadness... There's also yearning to understand, but the desire to be understood. I guess I'm taking the original Pixie lyrics into consideration as I'm listening too- I can't help it- but there are layers in your rendition that also take on a soul of their own. I felt compelled to comment. Absolutely beautiful work! And I love the black and white movie clip as well, dreamy and sensual.

Think of all the amazing feelings and the joy you are able to feel inside... We don't know what the fuck this life is, or why we're here... but take advantage of it, create joy and awesome experiences! I promise it will all be worth it, don't waste the only think you've got, it's full of greatness if you try!

Isn't odd the powerful, raw emotional response this song elicits? I was at work when a random Pandora mix played this. I was immediately thrown into a state of depression. This cover song is just beyond words to describe. As you stated, it does seem to have an effect where it taps deep into your memory-well, conjuring all the struggles you have endured.

i have been listening to this over & over. i don't know why, but it really brings home to me how fragile we all are. How we have a finite amount if time. I am in my 50's and have 4 amazing grandchildren and cos of illness, it;s unlikely i;ll see them all grow up to adulthood and have their own families. I know i'm not the only one who possibly feels like this, so why do i keep returning to a piece of music that makes me go to such a nihilistic, sad place? that a piece of music can do this shows the power a tune can have. but i know i'm going to cherish every piece of time i have with my children and their children. Savour every smile, grin & funny little things that they do.
