If I may suggest, take an used gift card or fuel card and wrap the duct tape around it lengthwise, you can carry a lot in a very small space.

Check out Larry Dean Olson he is a legend in the primitive Skills arena the real thing. Also check out Bushcraft by Mors Kochanski again the real thing and very knowledgeable. With those two books under your belt you will need nothing else. Use the others as fire starter.
