Tbh the second base defense would have gone alot different if the defenders didn't leave every door open, I get why you would leave doors open but then don't leave basically every bedroom open, if they wanted the shooting floor gdoor open they should have used the one on the other side since they probably wouldn't break those turrets. They also missed every opportunity to close the doors in favor of getting one kill and then dying.

Max, I love this idea....But I just thought of something. Logan not putting deployables on the base is almost perfect. You should never order a base with deployables but instead force the people who will defend it to actually USE (I see you had them fill it with loot in the boxes and whatnot, but i mean, go gather shit, use furnaces, build the doors and shit) the base for a couple hours or so building their deployables and getting comfortable inside it, placing what they want, where they want. With of course some quick base tour and guidance by the base builder on his vision of what he would do.

As a base builder with 3k hours just on ukn, honestly I can say you want peaks, but too many just give the raiders a ton of advantages. Especially with tower raiding being the meta now, a good compound/funnel can win most defenses

Great video as usual Max and crew, well done! Honestly, in both instances the defenders didn't utilize either base to it's full potential. On a 3 man, the usual defense consists of one roof, one mid and a compound defender. In both instances they just all stayed on roof. I didn't see any mines, smoke/grenades ore even rockets of any kind ... all of which are extremely important as defense mechanisms for duo/trios going up against bigger raid teams. Everyone is always concerned about the BASE being the focal point to defend where, given the right circumstances, what you USE to defend is even more important than trying to let the base do the work for you. The defenders didn't utilize the compound spawn points or use a ground push strategy because there were a couple of times in both raids where they could have taken a lot of the boom out of the hands of the defenders if they had. Now I am not sure you gave them access to those defense mechanisms I stated but I am sure if they had been able to use them, the outcome with both bases would certainly have been more difficult for the raiders. Just my 2 cents.

I'm a little surprised such a high hour team struggled to utilise the bigger base, maybe that's why the small base held out so well though? Because they didn't need to learn the base all that much or understand how it works, everything is right there in front of you and super close together

@@MaxsRust Small base held out so well you say but i didnt see anything like that they lost full control of the base just by rocketing 4 rockets on small base 2 ladders and they lost full control of the small base u basically lost there , on bigger base they didnt do anything good they stayed on roof dying from raid base again and again while they could try to hold the breach by the help of the turrets which they got many kills , defends didnt do good job maybe because they didnt know the base which is normal , but its not acceptable to leave all doors opens doesnt matter the size of the base.

I'm surprised at the lack of Rust hitmen for hire there are. Like imagine someone just annoys the hell out of you in Rust and you hire guys to pummel their base, or to grief them. I know people would be willing to pay some money to ruin someones day.

Defenders did not do a very good job at defending either base. Should have repaired and rebuilt defenses and pushed the attackers back. Steal the attackers rockets and the raid is instantly over.

idea (you seem to get a lot of these Max): When you can see the raiders are about to find tc, would be cool to switch to the raiders audio to hear their reactions. It basically means the end of the raid at that point so it's the biggest moment from the raiders perspective. Would be cool to hear them on coms as they find/ break tc each time.

Theres lots of builders with Patreon who design custom bases or have exclusive designs for subscribers. You could try to reach out to them and do the same kinda video but with KZfaq builders

9:33 - JUMP up onto furnace, and up on roof of furnace, jump over to the base, then up half level to the floor near the top floor... a little too ez to get up there.

Very close actually, however, we actually did this video the same day that got uploaded. I seen her video but didn’t think it was strong enough. So I used the footprint and then changed it in quite a few ways to make it stronger and more defendable. Good eye though!

But the turret placement is different in mine, the roof is completely different, parts of the honeycomb are changed and the compound is modified to make it something I would have preferred more. I used to footprint like I said, and there is no such thing as an original bunker anymore since facepunch updates them randomly.

Max i want to ask are smokes and grenades and the most important is hight velocity rockets allowed because if they are i never see someone use them in this video, when i play i dont need the best base but i need smoke,grenade,rockets and sealing stuf like lockers, vending,doors and windows(windows bc if there is so many peeks the ussles ones just place window and shoot trough the better one) and flanks around the base are really good too i know in this video cannot use flanks but for other ones, also i will love to see a video you and your friends defend a raid and see what base are you going to build.

It’s not hard to defend a base as a trio sounds pretty reasonable when you have a fully built base with compound turrets and kits it’s so much easier to defend than it is to raid

If you cant defend when you have base advantage its a legitimate skill issue. Ive defended 2v16 before, 1v6, 2v10 if you have an actual good design and are relative to the raiders in skill and gear you should be able to win 3-1 odds against you if not higher

You should do a video where you have 2 teams build 2 bases and then do instead of the usually team swapping you make the builders all on the same team (they'll be the raiders)and make the raid team defend for both bases >:] Reverse reversal

the first base is not comparable to the 250 dollar base, because the first base is a solo/duo base and the other base is a 5-6 man base

All of these clan bases look the same to me, I have lived out of 2x2s for 5k hours now and will do so for the next 5k hours. The less time I spend building my base the more time I have to bow out your turrets and jump into your compound. And the only way to actually keep your loot safe is to hide it.
