I absolutely loved it - the whole thing screamed bonkers 80's Italian flick. Not just the obvious Giallo elements, but the whole mental vibe of it. Right up my alley!

The ending made me cry so much. It reminded me of Monster. Mia Goth felt like the embodiment of Eileen. I’ve been abandoned by my parents so her father’s role really hit me. Bad people will do anything to attach themselves to you. Oppression is fucking exhausting. I will not accept the life I deserve. MAXXXINE made Pearl look like a cry baby loser. A real g moves in silence like lasagna - lil Wayne

Very enjoyable movie. But this one does seem the more tame of the 3 movies.

People basically screamed at me when the trailer came out and I said I had a feeling it was going to turn out like a Ryan Murphy AHS season where it’s more so about the 80s aesthetic over story. Where it’s about cramming every single 80s anything into the timeframe. I as well thought it was prob the worst of the 3 and thought it was a letdown. We went through these decades and again I think saying how great Mia goth is as an actress is now known so the movie needs more than that. I just expected something more.

Nice review! I agree. I enjoyed MaXXXine and thought it was good and very well made just not great like I was hoping. I’ll probably like it more upon rewatching.

Very predictable movie, but I liked it. I agree it needed more "meat".
