May 28, 2024, a five bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom, unoccupied home on Ocean Drive in Rodanthe, NC, just south of the Rodanthe Pier, succumbed to Mother Nature in the early morning hours. The home was uninhabitable and has not been occupied for over two years. The ocean current is taking the large debris field north along the beaches and ocean. WM Dunn Construction arrived just after 10am to start removing the home from the ocean and the debris along the beach. In the last four years, this is the 6th home in Rodanthe to collapse. Cleanup efforts are underway.
