I also lived in Tallinn and was driving Lada back in 1994. I didn't remember any more that complete lack of road markings. But indeed, paint that what was used then was bad quality and weared off within a year or two, so they were mostly absent. In Soviet Union driving lanes were wider, I think standard was 3 meters. Now they are according to European standard, it is 2.5 or 2.6 meters. And in 1994 green street light blinked 4 times before yellow came up, now they blink 2 times (In Western Europe they don't blink at all).

Korrastatum kõik on kindlasti, kuid selline vana aja avarus on kahjuks jäädavalt kadunud. Originaal muide ühe Rootsi-Eesti kirjaniku poolt üles võetud - otsige Enn Nõu kanalit KZfaq'ist. Fastest way to Moscow, thats why. I'm from Finland and i came to Estonia first time in 1989. Seen your country bloom! Well played! I do understand your speech but cannot write or talk it... not without some Alexander and Saaremaa drinks. Also, i never wanted to talk finnish to Estonians, i think it is awkward.
