My brother and his wife went skiing last Sat. (5/6) at Dodge Ridge. They had bought a ski lift ticket package and had two lift tickets left to use before the end of the season. He said a foot and a half of fresh snow in the morning. Slush by late afternoon. They went into Yosemite Valley on Sunday. He said it was amazing. Talked to a ranger, waterfalls running that have not been seen in 50 years. Early morning when it was still cold, he said it was quiet. In the afternoon when the temps went up he said you could feel the ground shaking from the water pouring off the falls. Bridal Veil Falls, he said the water was arcing out 100' from the base of the valley.

Voss, another excellent video showing your trail skills....well that goes for all of your crew. I do have a couple of questions for you and your sister about her motor upgrade. Its looks like her motor power is about the same as the JK's power with the Pentastar? Does she feel that she needs more with the size tires that you guys are currently using? What tent is she using?

Thank you for posting this. I was going to head up there on 5/17 for the first time. Change of plans.. i wll not be doing this solo in my power wagon after seeing the road conditions lol. Any recommendations on dispersed camping/mild off road at a lower elevation lake?

To be fair stock for stock that 4 door JK is 800lbs + or - a bit heavier than an xj. That’s going to make more difference than your guys tires. Especially in that type of snow.

You probably have no idea how much my jeep weighs, my Jeep is over 5k because of all the armor and reinforcements and axles. And trust me, I know about tires in the snow, not the first winter out there.

Every 20 years or so... It's an exception. According to long range weather forecasts, it might repeat again next winter.
