She wanted to keep him calm and to help him forget his past. I think she thinks that Mikkel ran away from something bad. She thinks that's why he doesn't talks about his parents or past and makes up stories about being from the future. So she tries to build a new life for him, tries to keep him calm and to help him forget about the things that trouble him. And she wants to keep him from running away too. She wants him to be safe so she gives him drugs that make him want to sleep and to not be interested in doing much of anything.

Ulrich and katarina bullishness didn’t affect anyone’s life. Instead others especially Hannah broke down their family and they five can’t reunite anymore.

Either way they are all still evil...lesser greater or middling it's all the same. There is no lesser evil
