i also really appreciate how often you talk about the cons of owning a pet parrot, the mistreatment and neglect and lack of research is so upsetting :(

Siren is missing tail feathers so she can't fly Mia can fly Tico and Miley are physically capable of flying but haven't learned... They're teaching them to fly.

The macaws also do not fly, although I think they are capable. I've seen training going on before on the 24 hour cams, and they have Tico do these cute little hops, which causes her to flare her wings. I think this is to help strengthen them so they can work up to flying. Most people who keeps parrots as pets have them in aviaries much smaller than this, and then take them out once or twice a day to fly around the living room, which seems to be as large as where they are kept now. One channel I really like is called Bird Tricks, and they free flight their parrots, and it's awesome. So whenever they can, they'll drive to a good location with not a lot of trees, and the birds will take off, do a giant lap, and come land back on their hands. It would be awesome if these guys can one day do the same. I also know Alveus has a training centre, which looks perfect for free flight training. Hopefully at some point they can utilize it for that purpose.

@@redfordreddington8834 they were captive birds so they don't have that natural instinct like wild birds, they need to be taught using ground perches that they hop between until their wings start flapping and they get used to it and eventually start to fly

well obviously lol, which is why the wolf enclosure is designed so no one but the staff can get in , the walls are too tall for any other animals to jump in, and it has two fences that are always closed, it is also situated not too close to the other animals so they dont set each other off. not only that but the goats are not allowed to roam that far into the sanctuary for their and the other animals safety, and the chickens are always inside their little enclosure. the staff know which animals can be dangerous to each other so they take all the precautions they can to keep both the animals and themselves safe.

@@cawcaw9089 Ok I know things are built so nothing like that can happen. I was just curious about the dog in the wolves. I see them and believe they would not attack the goats but just be curious. The chickens on the other hand maybe not so friendly. If , one got it.

​@@Smellyoldgoat there's no dog in a wolf, only the opposite is possible. these guys are largely wolves and would most likely see the goat as a plaything or a food. which several domestic dogs may do too, btw, the instincts are not completely out of their system

​@Smellyoldgoat I mean an untrained dog with enough prey drive/chase drive would easily kill a chicken or a rabbit if they had access. It's part of why dogs are leashed, bc if they see something they want, they will go after it, which is dangerous to everyone (the dog, the animals, anyone in the way, drivers, etc.).
