JUST PROVES THAT ONCE AGAIN MAYA STEPPED BACK FOR RILEY

I always feel bad for maya. She goes through some of the hardest stuff, and gets hurt. But she swallows the pain, and and hurts herself again, to make others happy. I feel like she needs so much appreciation. Shes so selfless

She steps back every time because she always has the best interest for riley . I wish she wouldn't do that some times. She deserves happiness for once. Riley has everything handed to her while Maya earns everything she works for.

I wish FOR ONCE we could actually see and hear what Lucas feels. We never really get to. Even in the jellybean scene he was mainly stating the facts but not *how that makes him feel*. The closest we got was when he was talking to Judy the sheep and the bull. I want to know exactly *what* he feels for each of the girls and why he feels that way. I want to know *why* he was so upset at Maya "seeing him that way" when she imitated him and said "I don't think that's it" at the campfire. I want to know *why he let's her pick on him*. I want to know more about his family here in New York and his parental situation. I want to know *more* about his bad boy past. I want to know *why he wrote "MR. PERFECT" on his forehead.* I WANT TO KNOW MORE and I feel like his character was never truly fleshed out.

I hate the writers it's like they just got bored with it so they wanted to end it. Riley says in girl meets Texas that maya made fun of Lucas because she liked him then at the end she says that she only liked Lucas because she was pretending to be Riley. Well that's bull cause when maya makes fun of Lucas she was being maya she's always liked Lucas from day one but her being the good friend she is she let Riley have him. I wish it wasn't cancelled and farkle could put out her feelings so we could see who Lucas would really pick .

I don't really buy the Maya being Riley bs. She's right. What IS WRONG with both liking him? But heres the real issue? Lucas never said he didn't like Maya. Lucas and Maya weren't forced to go on a date. They didn't need to be on a date to get closer to each other. Lucas and Maya are really like fire and ice but they genuinely enjoy the others company all times. There have been moments when Riley became too Riley and Lucas was damn pissed, but it was Maya who brought some sense into him. It was Maya who brought Lucas and Riley together. No one needed to push LUCAYA together because they acted like first lovers. That's what everyone thought, including the entire class in gmyearbook. Compare the kiss scene in first date scene to the Texas almost kiss. Don't you feel the tension and attraction between them? Don't you see his face when he proposes Riley vs scenes in which he's around Maya. He cant control himself around her. She's right. He loses his mind around her ,just not in front of the fire. Don't you see the goofy smiles and puppy eyes even after Riley is his gf? Why does Lucas need to be told that Riley has problems in Riley town when it's so loud and clear. Maya, who didn't say anything DIDnt look surprised or angry, was easily passed as not fine by Lucas. Why. Why did he see this and not that? Why does he let Maya tease him? Why does he react to it? Why is it normal for LUCAYA to get physical but extremely awkward for Lucas and Riley? What is the difference? It's comfort.

Looking back, it’s so upsetting that once maya starts to be more positive and less rebellious, suddenly she’s told that she’s not herself. As of she isn’t allowed to change her beliefs and is branded to be rebellious and troublemaker cause that’s who ‘maya’ is,

This is so good this edit made me realize that Riley had everything and Maya didn't she had no one and Lucas was that everything that Riley had to Maya but Maya gave it all to her friend that already had things but Maya didn't Maya suffered and she let that one thing that she loved let go to her friend who had everything so Riley is not a good friend she should've let maya have at least one thing that she doesn't have or need. I like this because it shows how biased everyone (including Riley) is on the show. Maya starts to "act" like Riley and thats why she liked Lucas. How about no. The whole identity crisis thing was so horrible. Maya genuinely wanted to become a better person because of Riley, but that couldn't happen because Riley was the one who was always supposed to be with Lucas. SO they made this whole identity crisis thing up. (somewhere along the lines of) "You have a horrible life!" -Riley to the old Maya. "You became me." -Riley to new Maya. You see that? The hypocrisy and the lies? Riley wants to tell Maya she has a horrible life, but then goes ahead and tells her that she needs to go back to her old rebellious ways when she starts to even remotely become a better and more fulfilling character and person. She was becoming something that Riley should've been proud of. But since Rileys big ego told her that she was the only one who could like Lucas, she convinced everyone that Maya needed to be changed. "I thought change was good." NOT ANYMORE APPARENTLY?? Also, Josh played a big part in this whole "Whoopty do I'm not Maya because I like Lucas and I"m like Riley". He had the dignity to show up after numerous times letting Maya down for another girl, and told her what Riley wanted him to say. And Maya had to give in to all of this because no one else supported her, and she basically let Lucas go, for her best friend, Riley. Sure it would be fine if she let him go on her own terms, but don't you think she's being a bit forced because "Hey, Josh is back, and Maya still likes him even though she probably doesn't because of his VARIETY of let downs in the past. But whatever its all fine now!" She now has to live with waiting for a guy who's way older and will probs not even wait for her. Lets also not forget that Maya also didn't like being who she was, because it made her rebellious, and violent. But you know, it's all good. She just happened to become Riley, even though she just wanted to be a better person. Oh, and she cannot love Lucas anymore either, cause she's just acting like Riley. She REALLY wants to wait for an older guy who will probably have 5 girlfriends and will forget about her. Yeah, makes TOTAL SENSE?? gmw writers need to pick up their shit

It's been years but, i still cry over and over this show. Lucaya will never ever be forgotten.

I feel like Riley was just being selfish and didn't understand her own feelings of jealousy at what maya and Lucas had.

As much as I want josh and maya to end up together. The more I watch GMW I see how Maya really does like Lucas, and feel like the only reason she keeps pushing him towards Riley right up to the end is because she needs her friendship with Riley over everything else. Like she realized that if for whatever reason he picked her that Riley and her wouldn't be the same, and along the way her friendships with Farkle, Zay, and Smackle, would change as well. She doesn't want to loose more people in her life so she chose to just be friends with Lucas, (another sure way to not loose him) and put her faith in someday with Josh. Which is also a cop out for her, because she has to see that he's always going to use the 3 yrs age gap as an excuse. She deserved a better ending.

Reily is insistent that Maya only likes Lucas because she’s trying to become Reily. And it effects Maya’s perspective and she once again steps back so Reily can benefit even though Reily all ready has it all . Maya on the other hand has 1 parent living on her wages . Well Reily has 2parents , both well paid ,1 sibling and a house on a nice part of town. Maya has doors of opportunities for her closed all the time by other people or her emotions .and in the end... once again her door of having a relationship with someone ( she already doesn’t have one with her father) closed from both someone else and her own selfless emotions. I was really disappointed with how this show ended as I think they should of let Maya and Lucas be together to show people that there is hope in connecting with someone even when you have way less opportunities. No hate love the show but I still think Maya and Lucas should’ve ended up together

I never really liked Riley's character. She had always been selfish and insecure, something she doesn't even knows herself. Whereas Maya, she is the one who had been selfless and always put herself behind Riley so that Riley could get all the glory. The ship was and had always been Lucaya, even if the didn't end up together.. They had the chemistry that was incomparable and Riley has always been jealous of that. My heart goes out to Maya, the person who deserved better. She was definitely the much better friend that Riley could ever be and I wish sometimes, she shouldn't have held herself back. Lucas had liked Maya. Period. The look on his face when Maya said "You picked Riley.", the way he looked at her when she HUH-HURRED at him, his goofy smile around her, the almost kiss at the campfire, his eyes held soo much passion and desire when he held Maya, something that was never there between Riley and him. The signs were there, everybody could see it, except the two. He just got pushed ahead by Maya to choose Riley, even though he didn't wanted to do that. I just wish Maya had been less sacrifical and Lucas had been more honest with his feelings and himself. Lucaya should have been the endgame. Period.

tbh i dont hate riley but ive never really liked her either. idk why but she's always come off as selfish to me. 💁🏻 and i also feel like she always takes maya for granted, like that one time where she got bullied. i felt bad for her of course and i maybe cried a bit but the way she took her anger out on maya is just not right. and the numerous times maya sacrificed what she wants just so riley wouldnt get hurt, but riley always do things that hurt maya's feelings. plus she's always trying to be maya in the first season and i didnt like that 😂😂 idk its just my opinion.

Omfg. I guess that's the first Lucaya video that I comment and believe me, I've seen A LOT. But this one describes what happened so perfectly. Maya stepped back in the beginning and stepped back again in the end, because she doesn't wanted to see anyone hurt, but she was the only one who got hurt in the end. Because she don't think that she deserves any kind of happiness. The hole "Maya became Riley" plot was so wrong, a dumb excuse just to make Rucas happen, what is such a cliche to me. People change people, not became people. Maya is so wronged :( (also sorry for my bad english i'm brazilian xD)

I loved the "why won't you let yourself deserve something" and that part where maya said she didn't feel one way until Riley said so. and the they can't be friends part at the end. Absolutely lovely video. I think to make it better you could've had during the Riley telling maya she's having an identity crisis scene you could've had a voice over from yearbook of lucas saying "and if you let people tell you who you are you'll never be who you were meant to be!" and at lucas choosing Riley maybe you could've added a Cory voice over from ski lodge which was "ski lodge was almost the end of Cory and Topanga!" p.s. would you ever consider doing a video like this for riarkle? you seem to see the bigger picture of the show and riarkle is my otp and I'd love a video of them similar to this :)
