As a German Shepard dad, I buy bulk cow liver, kidney and heart from my local butcher ( so I know the animal has not died from disease or that have been euthanized ). I cube up all the meat, and boil in a huge pot with vegetables, vegetable stock, turmeric*, glucosamine* and fiber" or whole grains" ( * = strengthening joints, " = Digestive track ). I then freeze up most of it for treats and pour some broth over their kibble ( kibble is Performatrin Ultra Ocean blend due to No chicken meal ). I learned years ago that there is no agency that oversees pet food, and what the name brands offer as food is dangerous to a long happy life. There are many web sites and videos with info on worst dog foods for your pet, PLEASE if you have a pet, do your homework.

So the individual offspring of two F1, 50/50 wolfdogs (an F2 cross, a generation removed from full wolf) could have anywhere from three-quarters wolf genes and one-quarter dog genes to three-quarters dog and one-quarter wolf - yet all will be considered one-half wolf. So im supposing if 2 75% wolf dogs breeded it could result in a full wolf, even though both parents were technically half wolf by designation.

Your very close to being correct, but this only works when eefering to phenotypes or physical attributes rather than genetically. When talking about a wolf dog genetically it could be anywhere from 99 to 10 percent wolf DNA and when breeding two wolf dogs together the offspring would never be able to be 100 percent wolf from two wolf dogs. Does that make sense?

Their reaction to you guys going in their enclosure really shows how much wolves avoid conflict as much as possible, and are not pure cold-blooded aggressive killers. Sure, they can absolutely kill you, but most of the time healthy wolves will avoid you. (Obviously I know that these are not full wolves, and that these animals are in captivity and not in the wild, so their behavior is likely different in many ways, but they are mostly wolf, so there's a lot in common with full wolves).

9:25 So if my understanding of genetics is about right (I've got an evolutionary biology degree but I don't work in the field right now) basically the way it works is that each parent contributes half of the DNA to the offspring, but during meiosis (the process where reproductive cells are made, which involves halving the amound of DNA) chromosomes can undergo recombination - paired chromosomes from a parent swap parts. One result of this is that it 'shuffles' the variation in the genome and makes it more likely that useful combinations will show up in the offspring, and it could also shuffle around the variation so that the offspring coincidentally inherit more of the parent's 'wolf' alleles than 'dog' alleles. That way you could end up with offpsring that are 'pure wolf' even if the parents aren't.

If you let’s say have two 70-80% content hybrids. That means those animals have 20-30% are dog genes. You get 50% of you’re dna from each parent, so you could theoretically get a pure wolf pup out of that union.

my friend owns 2 wolf dogs and they have human interaction and even when guests come over they act like dogs, very friendly and you can pet them. were awa and timber raised differently, as to answer why you can’t interact with them?

Its possible those dogs are less wolf content or were bread with better genetics. Wolf dogs hybrids are very inhumane to breed and generally not great to own. The staff don't interact with them because they are wild predators with unpredictable genetics/truama. Its simply too great of a risk. Im glad the animals you know are in a good home and are happy, but please dont support wolf dog breeding or any pet trade of wild animals.

@@antichrist4449I interact with 95%+ wolf content animals! Any canine can be aggressive. Depends on genetics and or upbringing! I’m not excluding the fact that people can do very stupid things around any animal that could prompt aggression. I respect what Maya does with her wolf dogs! These beauties are thriving now.
