In our latest video, "Maybe I’m Wrong About Ridgid Tools!" we're unpacking the details of the newest addition to the RIDGID family: the 18V 4.0Ah MAX Output EXP Lithium-Ion Battery (AC840041). This isn't just any battery update; it's a revolution in power tool technology, thanks to the introduction of tabless cell technology.
Discover how RIDGID is pushing the boundaries of efficiency and power delivery with their first-ever MAX Output EXP battery. Learn about the advantages of tabless lithium-ion cells, which offer a more efficient energy transfer compared to conventional designs. This technology ensures that your tools get 3X more power without compromising on size, perfect for those demanding projects that require your tools to perform at their best all day long.
What makes this battery a game-changer? It's not just the power; it's the design. With industry-leading 21700 tabless cell technology, this compact powerhouse delivers maximum runtime, ensuring you can keep working without frequent stops to recharge. But there's more - the battery is designed to run cooler and last longer, thanks to laser-welded cell straps and upgraded heat sinks. This means you can tackle the most demanding applications without worrying about overheating.
We'll also cover how RIDGID's advanced intelligent electronics are setting a new standard for battery performance, ensuring optimal operation even in the toughest conditions. Plus, with reinforced housing and added overmold construction, this battery is built to withstand the rigors of the jobsite.
And the best part? RIDGID's commitment to quality means this battery is eligible for the Lifetime Service Agreement, giving you peace of mind for the long haul.
So, are we wrong about Ridgid tools? There's only one way to find out. As a DIY fella on a small farm my Ridgid brushless power tools are great and getting new batteries to make my tools more powerful is a plus to me. I haven't built or repaired anything these tools haven't performed flawlessly in yet! I appreciate you Vince and your nemesis as well for I have saved a lot of money never paying full price for tools! And that is real nice like! Lol

I think Milwaukee, Ridgid, and Ryobi are probably using the same battery manufacturer for these tabless cells. So it would make sense for the parent company to have tabless in all their brands so they can order in bulk from the battery manufacturer to reduce the cost per cell.

That new Dewalt 60V Drill is a BEAST. Its got my corded drill scared to come out of the box. Im thinking Dewalt should just make a car for those batteries.

I bought a Ridged corded universal tool. It was good, performed, durable, versatile. I only used the one attachment. But it had replacement attachments for the business end. Vary powerful, for a universal tool.

Ridgid is not owned by TTI. It's owned by Emerson Electric but is licensed to manufacture by TTI. Meanwhile, Milwaukee is owned and manufactured by TTI. That explains the race to market competition.

"They aren't doing anything innovative anymore" wasn't entirely incorrect (before this announcement), but there were some bright spots. I think Pro Gear 2.0 is not getting enough attention. The bottom box that is separate from the wheels (saving interior space) in genuinely unique. Further, when they released the drawer box, IT COULD BE USED with the wheels as a bottom box, which was a genius move. But, on the tool side, it does feel a little too "me too-ey" and almost always is a middle ground between Ryobi and Milwaukee. Not a bad thing, but also not exciting.
