2nd Place overall Expert Category
This was an Expert/Cat 1 Race that was held at Maybury Park in Northville, MI on July 31, 2022. The race format for Experts was 2 laps of a time trial schedule (1 racer every minute) with the winner being the fastest to complete 2 laps. I had a decent race but came into the day pretty fatigued and not particularly motivated. I was close to skipping the race, but since it was local trail I'm very familiar with I raced it anyways.
I was able to secure 2nd place, but I was frustrated to realize I was only 11 seconds off of 1st place. I dropped my bottle in lap 1 (12:14) where a lost some time. I definitely had 11 seconds of effort in me and should have pushed a little harder.
