This really speaks to me, you want to be with your friends but you always are worried about bugging them and you end up in this forever loop of "should i? should I not?". I hope you feel better my friend, and just know life will figure itself out if you lead the way 😊

I think this depends on the type of vibe the friend gives. I have 2 friends whom I equally want to tp to but for 1 I will always tp to them without hesitation and another I’ll think twice and not tp. Reason being how they treat you once you tp to them. The first one is always welcoming and I’m never afraid to show them I want to play with them, regardless of the fact I just came came online and saw them 🌝 The second is more tricky - while we always have deep conversations, I can sense they want time away from others; not to mention their other friends who are always with them. In that sense, you can tell which friends are more comfortable for you to have you join them rather than the mere desire to play with them and like them. So follow your gut instincts when playing, I think it’s a good indicator to show which friends are good for you in the long run. After all, you can’t have genuine friendships if you’re too scared or not open enough with them. Good luck ;)

Sky is meant to be a game about friends and all, but I think the problem is that whether in a game or in real life, making friends is never simple and keeping them is even harder. And if you're a reserved person then you might as well be climbing a snowy mountain in bare feet. I don't know how many people I've met on sky where we had fun in Prairie lobby and friended each other, then they never even bothered to speak to me again. I'm not the kind of person who feels okay enough to try to force my way into someone's playtime, so it's always just me and myself in the end. I got fooled by the superficiality of Sky and remembered the struggle is everywhere in life, even in spaces that encourage friendship. Point being I relate to this too hard. Lovely animation, and I do hope you find a place you feel you belong.

To those people who doesn't warp to friends, even if you're very close to them, and tend to run solo, you are not alone. Sure it sounds depressing, but we're not here to judge, people have different ways in their choices, and to those who chose to be alone, I'm sure your friends will be happy to see you if you accidentally find them at home space in the same server.

Introvert here 👋🏻 I’m so glad I found close friends who understand my boundaries. We do runs together sometimes. But there are days I play by myself even when they’re online, then I join them later just to say hi before logging off. And they’re completely okay with it. The right people are out there. Don’t stop looking! 💕

Such a good way to keep in contact without being overbearing and respecting others' time/space, and it goes both ways. Just stopping in to say hi without wanting anything out of it is more genuine than "hi can i force myself into your cr"

I get that Sky’s supposed to be a social game, but the social aspect is just so… difficult? Like I never feel comfortable tping to other people bc I never want to interrupt them. The one person who would tp to me only spoke Russian, and after a while they just stopped visiting me. I really can’t blame them though, since I never made an effort to start interactions with them bc I was too anxious.

Honestly, this video is literally why I stopped playing sky. All my friends started to left, and they stopped to talk to me slowly. I started to feel so insecure about joining ANYONE. I also noticed that they started to make new friends and when I tp to them, they were always busy with other friends, and I felt like if I was a bother to them. Sky didn't felt the same, and it never will, for me. I literally logged everyday, to farm alone, or just watch the beautiful place of the game, but the loneliness was so bad. I had a lot of wonderful moments that I shared with friends in sky, but everything has to come to an end, and after one year, I'll finally say goodbye. Sky was amazing, I don't regret playing. However, this videos is beautiful, it hits very deep I SWEAR. You did such a good job, the animation is also really good and smooth. Sending a lot of love and support!

This captures how suffocating sky sometimes feels. I know this is about friends, and I've made friends in sky but the majority have quit, or just, don't play with me anymore. (I actually had a friend who I played with almost every day for a few months. I took a break from sky and then saw a notification that she was online, so I got on, and she just completely ignored me ;( it sucked) But this feels like how draining sky can be, and how even though its a game sometimes it feels like there's a pressure to go candle farming every single day or you won't get the good cosmetics :( im so sad that I took such a long break from sky because I won't get the cosmetics for season of flight, and it sucks. but candle running every day was so exhausting :/ ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL art and animation btw, it looks AMAZING

I have intense social anxiety and am a very sensitive person in general, so making friends feels like a big risk. Im always paranoid that I’ll overstep or be “weird” and make someone uncomfortable. I’ve started to gain some courage though and in the end it’s better to try and fail then to not try at all! It’s okay to make mistakes because it’s part of being human, and as long as you try your best it’ll get easier with practice!

I gotta be honest, I'm the kind of person who enjoys playing alone because Sky is my first experience with a multiplayer online game, and I have a deep distrust of people I don't know (had some bad experiences). I can definitely feel for you though, especially if it's somebody you put a lot of effort into getting to know or someone you know in real life.

This is how i feel everday tbh. I want to join my "friends" but the moment i teleport to them and saw them talking to their other friends in the distance and they haven't spotted me, I dare not honk to let them know I followed them and i would just longingly look at them in the distance (and read their chat) AASDFGHKL curse this awkwardness of mine. BEGONE WILL YA?! Edit: reading all the comments here, everyone is just a "little bit" awkward towards their friends. Who knows if my friends feel the same way toward me and all we have to do is just be a "little bit" brave enough to take the first step.

I can totally relate to this. When some of my friends are online, I want to warp to them. But there’s something at the back of my mind telling me “maybe you shouldn’t warp to them” or “you’re just going to bother them/be a burden.” It’s such a weird feeling. I should probably warp to them just to say hi or see how they’re doing. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. I used to have one friend that would warp to me just to say hi. But I think she left Sky. I miss her.

I relate to this so much. It's like wherever I look everyone seems to have a group of friends they can goof around with or chat with and I just don't know how they do it. I've always had a hard time with making new friends, nonetheless keeping friendships. So I though maybe I'd have it easier in Sky. (I swear I'm not a total loner in real life.) I've made some friends in Sky (Whom I've talked to,) but it's always a battle with myself whether I think I'm bothering the other party or have the energy to talk. Sometimes I get scared I'll say something that doesn't make sense or that I won't understand something the other person says. Heck, half of the friends I mentioned were introduced to me by someone else and the other half either doesn't play or we rarely see each other. What I'm trying to say here is, I'm really glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'll probably still have trouble communicating even after this but it's always good to know that metaphorically I'm not alone.

⁠@@aislamientoo wasn’t expecting to see this in my notifications but I’m glad my comment resonated with you. i haven’t had as much free time as i used to so i don’t play sky as much as i used to but i still definitely feel the fear of making connections with someone new whether it be in video games or in real life. i’m not sure if it has gotten better or worse since my original comment but i think it has at least stopped bothering me as much. i understand the urge to create connections with people but just never knowing how, though i think something that has helped me just a little bit was to go at my own pace. take breaks if you need to, social interactions can be draining or they are for me at least, just don’t force yourself to talk if you aren’t feeling it mentally. it may do more harm than good if you force yourself to upkeep social interactions you aren’t really feeling up for. and, if you feel like you’re bothering someone by talking them just know that you aren’t a burden. you deserve to be happy and if the other party doesn’t think you’re worth their time then they don’t deserve you. or if you feel insecure about something in your friendship i suggest talking it out with them. i’ve been childhood friends with two people for basically my entire life and there have been some times where i’ve thought i didn’t deserve to stand next to them or that they would be better off without me and hiding my insecurities have really only done me more harm than good. something i’ve learned is that communication is key to having a good relationship with someone and overall it’s just good to get something off your chest. if they’re a good friend they’ll listen and try their best to understand. that way you can come up with a solution together rather than handling it on your own. anyway, i’m not really sure where i’m going with this. i hope this was the advice you were looking for or that it at least did something to help. i’m not the best with words so maybe some things could be worded better and all of this may sound extremely weird coming from a stranger on the internet but i really do hope that you will find that that there are a bunch of people who are willing to listen and give you the friendship you deserve. maybe you haven’t found them yet and i can’t guarantee how long it will take but everyone deserves the chance to make deep connections with people.

As someone who randomly pops in on friends to say hi and honk the server sideways, I should probably do this more often. Ive met way too many strange people who only take my friendship and heart and rip it to shreds and make me forget humanity exists but also want to find and punch them to unconsciousness, I know. Also don't feel bad about expressing urself. Even if u cringe looking back, it's still called living. Don't feel like u have to apologise, for being yourself.

I think this shows isolation and how badly you want to communicate with someone but you can’t. For example you want to hang out with your friends but something (mabye depression) is stopping you. Then you feel bad about not being there so then it becomes a cycle. Idk if that’s what you were trying to portray here but I hope u feel better ^^

i understand this very much. i've been playing since 2019, yet i'm still a solo player. seeing as to how other players play together and do candle runds together is extremely painful, how come that's not as simple for me? 😭😂 but forreal though your art and animation is fantastic 🙌🏻✨

As someone who wants to warp to a friend but didn’t I felt it so bad, I had bad friends in the past and I had developed trust issues with it now I just sometimes ignore people doing their own things while I now head to the treehouse to listen the rain or the music box, or the shared space up in flight while listening to a music box if you need any help I’m here sometimes

is sad how sky is a social game and you like it but slowly becomes less fun because you dont have who to play with, is more fun to play with friends, specially people who likes attention or just socializing i always want to play with people but my social anxiety dont let me so i always play alone and now i just do the missions and leave because im starting to find it less fun than before and is sad tbh i really love sky

This is so beautiful and captures the sadder side of Sky perfectly. I have a friend on Sky from across the world and he had to leave for military training that would take two years, and I haven't heard from him since. We met near when I started playing Sky (at the start of the pandemic, and I was crushingly lonely and isolated) and his kindness cheered me up so many times when I had such little human contact. I've played a lot less since he isn't around as much, because he was one of the only people I met on there that would do candle runs with me and we'd talk about ourselves and how life was going and such. I needed that so much. Every time I see fan content of Sky or think about the game, I think of the hours we played together and the lovely memories we made :') I really hope he's doing well. It feels really lonely to play now that he isn't around.. Kinda sad to log in and not see any of my friends around anymore.. but I am doing a lot better irl now, so I guess you give and you take

Keeping friends and relationships in sky is so hard when everyone around you leaves, I literally remember meeting my ex in sky and they cheated on me It's hard to try and budge in w other ppl w out feeling like youre just bothering them I always have to block unactive ppl in my friend list just to add more ppl that'll be unactive again It's an unending loop of going back to being alone

I understood this very personally. Even when I was little, I struggled to fit in and make friends. Sky definitely makes it a little bit easier, but often times I get too nervous to warp to people even after we've become good friends. Even some of my closest friends I won't warp to. I worry they don't want to see me, or I will be interrupting something they are doing. So often times, I'll say how I don't mind being warped to by others, that they are free to join me on my adventures. But the issue with that is I struggle to talk and bring up good conversation at times (unless we are very close), so it'll end up being awkward silence with the other person. So I get it. I do. And from someone who struggles to socialize to the next, here's a big hug! It will get better ❤️

First off, love your animation, second, I've been feeling like this all week. While there's a person whom we connected straight away, I never seem to catch them back on again, and I send them hearts everyday, so I know when they have been on or not. I even played the entire day today mainly just to wait for them. They never came. So now I've just been feeling jealous, whenever I see a room or space filled with pairs or triplets or even quadruplets. Whenever I see that one of my other friends is online, I'm tempted to press that yes button, but then I think to myself "I'll probably be seen as annoying, I probably shouldn't. I'm not that creative to see what I would even do with them either." So I'll end up just trying to give myself little random goals, "find all the wings", "find all the extra spirits in this location", "try and dodge a krill". If that ends up loosing my attention, I'll try and find a very dark and/or hidden area and just sit there, and if someone finds me, I'll throw up some confetti to congratulate them on thinking outside the box. But then I end up not being found for the longest time. It's hard to make friends and keep them, I'm pretty reserved and insecure myself, so it's hard. I try to play the game anyway, and even spend almost all my extra money on trying to get new items and clothes from the current season. I should go eat some pizza-

This hit way to close to home thanks to the experiences I've had on sky. I've managed to accidentally push the majority of my friends away because I've been offline so much after dealing with a toxic friend that ruined my ability to appreciate the game. They've moved on or just don't speak to me anymore. Sure it's nice when the really close ones get on, but that's rare when we actually get to talk, so half the time it just feels empty in sky since I'm too afraid to join others or interfere with people, especially as an introvert. Aka I relate and this animation is gorgeous. Idk why I'm not subscribed yet, take my subscription you deserve it.

this hits too close to home 😔 i met someone in wasteland and we bonded there, searching for winged lights together and trying our best to avoid krills. we both parted ways when we reached the temple, after a few weeks of exchanging lights i found out that she blocked me bc she stopped responding but i can still see that her sky kid change cosmetics every now and then. i still don't have the courage to remove her from my constellation :")

I feel this so much, I am an introvert and socialising is so hard for me, keeping conversations interesting and actually having people think I am fun or cool and they want to be friends with me is almost impossible. Ok, confession. Over a year ago I stop playing sky due to mental health issues ( it's kinda hard to keep friends when you think you don't deserve any). And I deleted my discord account as well so I couldn't communicate with them. Well now, I've been playing sky again for about 2 months and I blocked almost all of my friends due to being ashamed that I left them for so long. Plus, I didn't know how long I was gonna stay for, so I didn't want to come back and then disappear again. Sometimes I like being solo but I really miss them a lot. I haven't had online friends like them in a long time and it's really hard for me to make new friends and keep connecting with them (I've made only one friend that has potential to last but who knows if it will happen). I contemplate unblocking them and explaining my situation, but yet again, I'm afraid I'll push them away like before and who knows if they still wanna be friends with me. My mental health is definitely a lot better but that fear still lingers. Oof, sorry that was long. Anyways, thank you. I really related to this, and the animation was really good as well! ❤️

I've had those moments a lot, not only in sky. It's that feeling when you want to be with your friends, but you're scared of bothering them somehow. I do not have that feeling now and that's good.

I feel that, thats the reason i quitted. I used to play sky with my best friend. But we had a fight and choose to stay away from each other path. I was feeling lonely, very lonely. Desperate for attention. Made some many friends, trying to get close to them. But i cant even join them when their online, im scared of getting ignored, and just like a background character. I was just hoping somebody will talk to me, will join me. Theres nothing i do except for cr-ing in sky, after 2 months. I quitted, im tired and its getting boring,, But keep your heads up!! Im supporting you

Its hard to find friends in sky at least someone who is excited for you to be online as much as you are for them. But Sky has mad eme more open to people even with bad experiences, Keep finding your people because they are out there looking for you too

I heavily relate to this, I had several friends on sky, but I felt like I was asking to many favors and I panicked, in the end I stopped talking to most of them. And the ones that I told how I felt drifted to other games, and I never really got to talk with them again, this constant cycle of wondering is so frustrating and makes it hard for me to get close with anyone.

Though it hurts seeing friends just fade away, especially if you've made so many dear memories with them, but it's going to be okay. You'll find new friends; and make new memories with them. Literally gave me goosebumps, the song is so powerful, and Sky just has such a unique feeling to it, mixing the two in this way with your skill just sets off the serotonin. As someone who also suffers from lots of “noisy” thoughts (for lack of a better word), the animation also resonates with me, and completely changed the song itself for me. Thanks for being one of the few Sky content creators I’ve come across, and for sharing your skill

I feel like a lot of the people feel this way, is because there's always that one person that stalks on you. Both in virtual and in the real life. And we most likely felt uncomfortable from that when it became excessive and that's why we tend to preserve our actions so we don't do the same mistakes to your friends.

this comment section is one of the most wholesome ones i've seen on youtube. i'm glad so many people can relate to the problem of wanting to be social but don't want to intrude in their friends' times, really shows how even if sky can be an escape from reality, there'll always be some part in us that can seep into the game like this. amazing animation btw!

I once had this amazing friend in sky, we would play together all the time, i helped them out with the season, they helped me get to the eye of eden. Every time we saw each other we would say hi and end up playing together for around an hour. Then one day they just didn’t show up. I still remember them to this day. If they’re seeing this, I miss playing with them and hope to see them again someday.

I actually really feel that. Like... I'm not a social butterfly soo... I have my struggle with... meeting people. (In real life and in game, lol) So I'm always awkward in the beginning, when someone unlocks the chat with me, lol. At least I feel awkward. And I always say to the person "I'm pretty shy, so please don't mind me being awkward." And luckily... all of them are nice and understanding. BUT I have to admit, that I found small amount of people, that I'm comfortable with! They kept visiting me, saying "hi" before logging off and sometimes doing candle run with me! Of course they are sometimes with other people, but they still invite me to join with open arms! Now I sometimes join them, I love talking to them, having fun and stuff. And it's actually thanks to them, that I'm trying to be more social there. I don't force myself to interact with people there, of course. But I got a bit (only a tiny bit) better with the social stuff there, lol.

AAAAA I always thought I was silly for getting SO emotional and feeling actual grief over growing distant from Sky friends :,) I have a beautiful friend who goes by Suki that told me she’d probably stop playing after this season, and I started to distance myself because I don’t wanna go through the pain over losing my first good Sky friend 🥲 but recently I’ve been thinking about how I’ll regret it so I’ve been doing that less and trying to get on more when she’s on (time zones aaaa)

This was one of the animations that i watched back when i was a moth, now coming back to this again a year later, it turns out i do relate to this alot making friends became very very hard for me and eventually it also started becoming a problem for me to even attempt joining people. Its always me praying to god the moment i press the join button i have those who i spend my time around with now but.. sometimes i wish i had the courage to even say a simple hello to someone

i’ve been playing for 3 years and it’s kinda sad that with each year, with each month social experience in sky becomes more and more depressing. with each lost friend, especially close ones a hope to find anyone fades…it shouldn’t be necessary a group of people but at least one person who i’d always could tp not worrying to bother them or not to be embarrassed to say something wrong…and now, after 3 years and a month i feel lonelier than ever

aw, i relate to this so much. i got back on sky recently and starting to join strangers in doing the seasonal quests, made friends, but i get so anxious of leaving them bec they might leave me alone again the next day :') awesome animatic tho,, nd i hope all of us here find friends that won't forget us

I know how this feels 😂 🥶😭 So I have this friend. We unlocked chat and got pretty close. But when she has other friends i feel left out cause her friends speak a different language 😭 I was trying to follow her in the Isle of Dawn but the pesky server split wouldn’t let me and she wouldn’t come for me. 😖 I have this slight feeling that she’s getting annoyed at me haha but idk if it’s real or just my crazy self 😩 Sooo I try to keep my distance and when I see her online I don’t warp to her 😖 I’ll try again sometime. Dang this hits pretty hard. Relationships can be so difficult to have cause you wanna be with people, but youre like “nah” cause you feel like youre bothering them, and some even TELL YOU youre not bothering them but ya still feel bad, then youre just sad afterwards :/ Ive seen some of the other comments relate to this vid, but i hope they and you are doing good. The worst feeling is about that you met your friend and then they started to be nice and funny and kind in the game , after weeks later they started begin weird, toxic not kind, and the worst part is that you blocked them and you will never see them cause how good days did you spend time with them when they aren't toxic before :/.... Also the animation is amazing and smooth you deserve a talented I swear !!!!!

I can definitely confirmed this. Had a moth friend that was kind in the beginning. But then when they saw me with my other Sky friends, they got jealous. They did a whole personality flip on me or whatever it is. Then I had to block them.

As someone who also struggles with it, whenever one of my moths joins me, I always go to them first when I notice they joined and I'm with a group. Cuz I know it's intimidating, and you can be scared to approach.

ok i just found your channel and have enjoyed literally every single video so far, your content's incredibly entertaining and enjoyable, and your animation is stunning! this has got to be one of my favourites, and feels like a really good depiction of the anxiety that can come from a simple thing like joining a friend. it becomes so easy to just end up alone, doing candle runs, or just flying aimlessly around, just to end up back home staring at your friends list with no one online. i love the emphasis sky puts on cooperation, communication and friendship, but it also means that the game feels so much lonelier when no one's around. but there's always the hope that you'll meet a life long friend, and for now, that and the beauty of sky as a game keeps me playing. and hey, if you're ever in need of a friend, i'm always happy to add anyone on sky that needs a pal to hang out with, because god knows i need one too. hope things get better for you from here, and that you keep up the amazing work!
