I am the man behind Apocalypse, an Epic/Black Metal solo project heavily influenced by Bathory, which basically is my way to pay tribute and continue what Quorthon had started.

Been wanting to do this one for quite a while, and it was also requested a couple of times by some of you the viewers, so finally, here it is! Freezing Moon is the song that got me into Black Metal too, so it is a special one for me. I hope you enjoy!
As usual, I tried to come as close as possible to the guitar sound used on the original record.This is the gear I used to replicate Euronymous' guitar tone:
Washburn CS-780
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone
Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal
Marshall JCM2000 combo
Shure SM58
Mixing board (I boosted the highs a tiny bit on the board)
Slight EQ and reverb were added in the DAW while mixing

Freezing is kinda easy, you should check simon Smith he does complete lessons of every song, you can also check for tabs, I usually use songsterr.com but you can use others like ultimateguitar, etc PD: actually freezing moon is pretty easy, is not that hard

This is black metal in it's early stages. It wasn't even fully defined or embraced yet. Still was referred to as extreme metal. You can hear the doom metal in this still. Later it kinda came in to it's own and focused more on blast beats and less droning parts. Love this song

Interesting point of view. I think Black Metal is a very broad subgenre and still to this day you have doom influences in the genre, amidst others. But I surely agree that what we have here is one of the earliest examples of Black Metal as we know it today.

@@EM-xj8hy Thanks man, that's really flattering! \m/ I like both Euro and the Count. I love the music both of them created. De Mysteriis is one of my favorite Black Metal albums, but so is Filosofem for example. I don't feel the need to pick a part.
