@@katharina4847 Correct sir. This is SECOND wave Black Metal. Started by this very band, but influenced by Venom, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost, and I would argue a bit of Motor Head. The big thrash 4 were alive and well when Mayhem really got going. They were very anti thrash and death metal in their day. Strangely enough this very band is about to tour with Cannibal Corpse! My how things have changed. I love all heavy music. Mayhem certainly has their place in the underground, but their latest record as absolutely their best fully realized product. I get I will get flamed for DMDS not being the best, but the new quality of the band, even on these very songs is on a new level. Attila was the first true recorded vocalist on an LP. The man deserves credit for being the force he is. He is a man of 1000 voices.

Es raro para mi ver una interpretación de mayhem asi de producida, cuando la primera vez que pisaron mexico en el 97, los conocí en una tiendita que estaba afuera del lugar donde iban a tocar, sin maquillaje y los 4 comiendose un gansito y una coca, ese día los que se portaron chingon, fué blasphemer y hellhammer, los otros dos se abrieron a la chingada... En fin por esa experiencia, es dificil para mi ver mayhem y no acordarme como se chingaban su gansito y su coca

Cesar, yo tambien los vi en Mexico en ese tiempo, yo soy de Irapuato pero toda la banda fuimos a Leon a verlos.....el show estuvo perron y el maniac se robo el show con las cabezas de cerdo sangrando...haha.......ahora estoy en el gabacho y fuimos a verlos de nuevo hace unos meses pero ahora presentaron este show y estuvo bien cabron...este video se ve perron pero en vivo estuvo mas chingon, atila , necro ....todos se veian bien cabrones......fue todo un ritual......el gansito y la coca le mata el hambre a cualquiera, venga de donde venga....

Saw Mayhem headlining years ago with an amazing opening lineup. Was sort disappointed that they didn't put on a crazy show at this smaller venue like they do for bigger ones. The entertainment value came from the other legendary bands before them. Anyhow, the venue was small and everyone was within a few feet of them at times when their set was done and they did signings. The energy of them off-stage is probably just as unsettling as on-stage. It's like they have a cloud of doom above them at all times. Atilla will easily go down as one of my favourite vocalists in history. He made noises that were unhuman yet blended perfectly with the instruments. Dude can go from Mongolian Throat Singer to Corpsegrinder in a millisecond.

When will Wacken start to properly mix audio ? It's amazing that much smaller festivals like Brutal Assault and Summerbreeze can upload mixes of MUCH better quality.
