Are you ready for the bonus project?
Maymay takes the leftovers from the recipe folio to make the cutest lil recipe book
So gather up those supplies and let's create!!!!
~~Measurements~~
All of our measurements may not work for you, please measure to make sure you are getting the correct size for the books you purchased.
The book we are using is 4 7/8" x 7 1/2"
Outer cover: you will need (2) cut to 4 7/8" x 6 5/8"
Inside cover: you will need (2) cut to 3/4" x 4 7/8" strips and (2) pieces cut to 4 7/8" x 5 3/8" or so. We used scraps so no exact measurements
Tabs: (5) pieces of cardstock cut to 1" x 8" or so, then score in half on the 1" side at 1/2"... you will cut that strip down into 1 1/4" pieces.
Divider pages: 4 7/8" x 6 5/8" , you need as many of these that you may need
Floating Pocket: we took 4 cut aparts that were 3" x 4" and did not cut them, so the total measurements is 4" x 12" and we scored and folded that in half at 6" and then you will need (2) pieces 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" ( not an exact measurement, we used scraps)

I love the busy covers you do! And the recipe book will be nice to pass on to children or grand children. I wish my grandfather had written his recipes down. He made wonderful oatmeal raisin cookies and the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had.

This would be really fun and like a recipe share. Maybe like you put in your first recipe and a little note in it then you mail it to a friend and they add to it and write a little note and then keep sending it to friends or back and forth to each other or something like that would be awesome

I love this thing. I will be making it if I can find these half comp books anywhere. I appreciate your tutorial on how to make a tab without a die or stamp - brilliant. I will not be gluing any pockets to the spine. I would have glued it to the front inside cover instead. Thanks for showing me that so I don't do the same thing.

You do such a fantastic job coming up with projects that any crafter can do with supplies they already have on hand. You also do an excellent job explaining how to do it. I have tons of those mini composition notebook. The best time to get them is around just before school. I scoop up three packs. I have only made up three so far. My oldest granddaughter wanted one. It's a good deal to get them from Walmart in a 10pack for 4.69 who couldn't pass up a good deal. tfs

I LOVE this project! Maymay, you have such a keen eye for decorating your albums. I enjoy watching you work through the process. With this “Baking Memories” album, I would not only add recipes to it, but journal memories about making each recipe. So many things came to my mind as I was watching this video. It would be a great keepsake for my grandchildren to have…maybe make one for each of them with the recipes of their favorite things that I have made for them and give it to them as a gift. I might type the recipes, but use my own writing to journal the memories. Thank you for sharing your creativity!

I love this idea and there are just so many things you can do with the composition books, like keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas card lists, gift list and so much more. If this lived in my purse it would probably get destroyed, so I would add a ribbon under the paper to help keep it closed, I’m sort of the everything and the kitchen sink in my purse person.

Isn't it interesting how things appeal to some and not others. Variety is the spice of life. I don't think the cover is busy at all--you have a good balance with the main focal point and the colors of the three other pieces of paper/stickers tie it all together. Besides, it's for you so you can do whatever you like.

Love this! I would paint the covers with a protective sealant such as ModPodge. I was also thinking of making one just for desserts and making labels for pies, cakes, cookies, etc as I have so many. Maybe another book for main dishes labeled chicken, pork, beef, etc. You open our minds to so much creativity and I really appreciate that! Thank you so very much!

I will caution you on the Mod Podge, it can and usually does warp the covers of these. They are paper after all. I don’t do it for that reason, also I do not like the look. But, you can do it, it does function just be careful.
