I am so please to have found this video. I’m 80 n have been journaling since a teen. It’s my safe quite problem solving world. But I most certainly will make this beautiful peaceful journal. Talk about an unexpected blessing, that is what you are for me! Attended a baptism this morning and tomorrow we will be welcoming a sweet lady into the church. I have been thinking about what to give her as a gift from our ladies and this gratitude journal is perfect! The basket will have a crocheted shawl with a note to tell each time she uses it, it represents our Savior wrapping His arms around her as well as her sisters in Christ; a packet of lemonade with a contact info magnet telling her that when life gives her lemons, let us sisters come to her “ade” (and names/phone numbers of several sisters in our ward who will minister and help), and a pocket prayer quilt. That is one beautiful journal! For gifts, I like the unlined comp books; they are more expensive but very nice. So far, I can only find them on line. Then I take a piece of white cardstock and make ruled lines, tuck that in a pocket, so it can go behind the page if want lines to be able to write straight on the page. The unruled is also great for stamping, etc.

For such beautiful paper to last a long time I would single side laminate that way the paper side would still stick well. Great project

I have made these journals for years. So may people comment on protecting the covers etc but I’ve never had issue. Even on my recipe journals. That doesn’t mean someone else won’t have issues with it but I haven’t. If you want to laminate then I say go for it!

@@MaymayMadeIt that's good to know. I have never heard of mintay paper until your channel. It must be very high quality paper. It shows beautiful in the video but it's hard to know the feel of it. I'll keep watching and learning. Thank you.

As a teacher, I use so many notebooks, and never seem to have enough pocket space to keep a track of all the bits and pieces I need to keep. This composition book sure can double for that!!Thanks! A donkey's cart-load of gratitude to you for sharing these amazing ideas. God Bless you!! :)

Love this!! Made a covered journal for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She is a teacher, and I thought she would have a good use for it. I covered both sides of the front and back covers, and added pockets to the inside covers, but I did not include gussets or ease. Mine is so rudimentary compared to yours, Maymay. So wish I had your video months ago. I will be making her another, much more polished and useful. I look forward to your future videos.

I have looked high and low for someone who is really able to explain how to make and alter these journals. I have quite a few and wanted have them for my craft fair. I enjoy making these for the ladies of my church. I haven't made the pockets yet, but will start adding those to the next ones I make. I believe what the ladies enjoy the most is that I stamp many of the pages with Maymay's stamps (especially the Scripture club stamps) and add some floral stamps from my stash. The ink does show through on the back side of the page, but this doesn't seem to hinder the enjoyment of the notebooks. Thank you, Maymay, for sharing your creative ideas with us! PS. I usually stamp 3 notebooks with similar colors at the same time.

First, I have to say thank you, a huge thank you Maymay for truly inspiring me. I haven’t gone to my beautiful papers for so long...and thank you for making the process videos in this way...I feel like I can take time to choose my supplies, come back and not be overwhelmed to make the whole project at once. I also love the idea of it not being for a determined amount of time, just a beautiful book to return to for as long as you have space to add more gratitude, a special place to go when we need to remember our blessings over time🤗

So glad I happened on this video! I need to add a Gratitude Journal to my bible study/war binder and this is exactly what I was looking to do...without the wonderful instructions of course. Just want to say thank you so much for all the work that goes into these videos. I absolutely love this project. I was looking for a Christmas gift for daughters, granddaughters, and sisters. I do mixed media and focusing now on more fine art, but I still LOVE ❤️ paper crafting that includes collage and assemblage work ( and still love to make the occasional greeting card too.) I’m also finding that doing an art journal is very beneficial in such a variety of ways and I use the Strathmore Mixed Media journals for art journaling (they hold up to lightweight wet media fairly well.). But these“Gratitude Journals” of yours are such a fun and budget friendly way of making a journal to use for “whatever” the need. I have so much beautiful patterned paper and love to fussy cut so I need to get some composition books and create some of these journals. Thanks Maymay!

This is just so beautiful… I just began working with paper projects. Actually I have a lot of paper. I wanted do something besides using it to Mod Podge. Love this project and I will be trying it. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
