Maytag 3000 Series Dryer Repair! Heating Element Bad Dryer Not Heating Up!

My Maytag 3000 series Dryer stoped heating up so I dug into the dryer and the heating element was bad. In this video I will show you how I replaced the heating element and cleaned the lint out of the dryer.

Wow!! Our Epic Maytag dryer stopped heating last Sunday. We've had it for 12 years and assumed it would be expensive to repair and might have to buy a new one. Came across your video on Monday and ordered the part from Amazon for $34.00; gotta say I didn't expect much for that price but when the part arrived, we installed it easy-peasy and were back in business by Thursday! Thank you so much for this video and for walking us through the "HOW" step by step. Much appreciated.

I was about to comment on the very detailed video as well. Some just get on and go thru the motions and be like, “take these screws out then this, then you yank er out n put er back in like at right there, then plug er back up n we good!” 😂😂😂 ummm nah, we ain’t good boss! What a well explained video. What happens when you have a drawer on the very bottom of the dryer? Do I have to remove the drawer first? Mine has a drawer on the very bottom.

Thank you for the kind comment. I really don’t know about the drawer without seeing it. I would assume just to remove it as-well. Hopefully you can find a video on that model.

We did it. It worked. We didn’t move the drawer at the bottom. We did have trouble putting back the heating box since it had the rib on top that somehow had to get into the hole but finally worked. Thanks for your detailed explanation.

@@zeeshandogar9406 yes the just slide on. Like male and female connections. Prob a little hard to get off. Wiggle the connector side to side while lightly pulling.

@@zeeshandogar9406 always take a picture of your wires before removing them. That way you will be able to look and see which wires go where without having to remember. I was lucky enough to have a pic of the inside of my dryer on my phone because I recently put new wheel bearings on and changed the blower wheel. I couldn't remember which wires went where and then I remembered I had a picture from a few months ago!!!

@@MattFreytag , thank you. In case anyone asks, I figured it out. The difference is that there is a back attachment that you just have to wiggle really hard to get loose. It will be hard to get back in, but not sure it is necessary. Other than that, it is very similar. Your video was very helpful.

There is a clip holding it in. You can either rock the assembly around and yank it out (what I JUST did) or maybe take the back panel off and see if you can get at it that way (which may require removing the top and maybe the control panel, not sure) . I yanked it out and a clip fell off. I ignored it, replaced the heating element, cleaned it all out and put it back together. It works. I made sure I jammed it back in real tight and screwed it back down.
