Very helpful, thank you. May I suggest that you turn the refer-freezer off for a while and let the plastic and wire harness warm up, it was a struggle to remove the icemaker with the materials being frozen. I had a water line and icemaker freeze up while on vacation, the fill port was frozen along with the fill tube and ice maker. After allowing the unit to thaw, I reassembled all the parts and turned the refer back on and in a few hours I was back into ice production. No new ice maker needed, however the video on how to remove these components was extremely helpful, could not have done the job without these video tutorials.

I unplugged my refrigerator and used a blow dryer to speed up the process..

Great video. Thank you very much. Getting the L side cover off baffled me initially, even w the explanation. Once tab is depressed, slide the cover towards the refrigerator door and it comes off. Putting back, position the clip along L side of refrigerator at bottom inside slot enclosure. The cover tabs slide in at motor end, and cover slides over protruding tab at door end.

I wanted to say a big "Thank You" for this video. I knew this ice maker slid out but no one and no information told me how until this video. I have to do this about every 10 months in order to clear an ice block in the top of the ice maker. Now, that is an easy task. Bad design but thanks to you, now i can deal with it.

Very informative video. I’m now ready to go tackle this leaking Ice Maker on my Maytag and refused to dispense because the ice are all stuck together. Can anyone tell me what the Ice Maker part number is for Maytag model MFI2569VEM? My refrigerator is almost 14 years old. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Along with myself, there are a couple of other comments asking for suggestions on how to keep the icemaker pushed back when the side clips are broken off, since there seems to be no replacement part for this... Any suggestions??? Thank you 😊

Thank you for the help. I replaced the icemaker but when I slid the ice maker back in the water hose at the top bends back and doesn't drop back into the funnel for the ice maker. There isn't too much room at the top. Any tricks that you might be able to share?

+captjester I got it, I smashed a long piece of cardboard as flat as I could get it, slid that on the top of the ice maker and the ceiling of the refridgerator. I slid the ice maker all the way in (with some work), the pulled the cardboard out carefully and the refill hose went into place.

Maytag ice maker works but won’t dispense ice and won’t open. I have not been able to open it for about a yr. I removed all food and let it thaw but button to open it won’t release. Is there another way to open it other than the button?

I have the Maytag MFI2269VEA1. It keeps making ice, the lever is stuck up. Can it be repaired, or am I looking at replacing the ice maker? Thank you.

So I took it apart as shown in the video. Mine was slightly different. I took the front motor assembly off the ice maker, 3 screws. @ 4:02 in video. I pulled out the cam that connected the fill/empty lever. I also squeezed those copper channels that the front pins connected to for electrical. I did notice the cam motor was in a position that was not normal, maybe half way through the cycle. Put it all together and flicked the switch. Water started filling and I heard a motor. Arm is now down again. So, I think there was either a bad electrical connection, under the front motor cover, or the cam lever was jammed. Anyway, thanks for the video!

Is there any interlock for if someone had switch on with no water hooked up for an extended period of time to prevent fill solenoid from staying energized? Just moved into a house with this same ice maker and I have no water deliver to sump. As I stated when I first looked at it switch was on and I just hooked up water supply. There is flow to door dispenser. No wiring diagram just wondering what sequence of operation is.

Can you please give me a little advice? Mine is similar with same type Ice kit, Fridge model is MFI2269. I can't get the cover off of the kit by wiggling or prying in order to jumper it from T to H. I entered the digital tech testing mode, and selected test #193 for ice maker relay. Like your other diagnostic video on this mine had a misshapen piece of ice in the grey hopper where water fills into the kit. I am wondering if I have just a frozen water line, or a bad ice maker. Turning the relay on, I hear relay click and a very slight whirring noise but it does not fill with water no matter how long I wait (up to a couple minutes). Wondering if next step is to turn it off and wait a day or two in case it is frozen up incoming line. I would much appreciate your thoughts.

+c2nah Forgot to mention I did change the water filter after the issue started, but still no water filling. Water filter was overdue to change.

We have the exact same fridge. The clip on the front of our ice maker housing broke so it will not stay closed. ie, it pops open when ice is dispensed. Is there any way to replace the housing case? I do not see it on the Maytag parts list.

I have a Maytag MSD2756AEB and the ice and water dispenser control panel does not have any lights on it when you request an operation all was working before the maintenance man was here. Reason for service call was freezer was not defrosting this part is fine now. Is there and internal fuse? and where is the control board for the ice maker? I find no reference to either of these in KZfaq.

What a pain it is to get this ice maker tray out. I have press the clip and does slide a bit forward but then gets stuck. I tip the fridge over trying to get it out, any help?

I had trouble getting it out as well. I actually broke the top tab…but it seems to fit back ok. I think the bottom was not fitting “square” to had to wiggle it a bunch

***** Nope, still don't know how to troubleshoot the ice maker. Is it the water valve solenoid? No clue.
