HBO Sports' groundbreaking "24/7" reality franchise, which has captured seven Sports Emmy® Awards, will return for its eighth boxing installment with 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY, a four-episode, all-access series, it was announced today by Ross Greenburg, president, HBO Sports. Debuting SATURDAY, APRIL 10 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/7:00-7:30 p.m. PT), the series follows two of boxing's top performers -- Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley -- as they prepare for their May 1 welterweight pay-per-view showdown in Las Vegas.
Noted Greenburg, "We can't wait to get the cameras rolling on Floyd and Shane as they prepare for this big event. We appreciate all the access and cooperation that we get from the boxers and their teams. We know the bar is set high and we are excited to meet the challenge."
Episodes two and three of 24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY debut on subsequent Saturdays -- April 17 (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET/6:30-7:00 p.m. PT) and 24 (8:30-9:00 p.m.) -- while the finale debuts Friday, April 30 (8:30-9:00 p.m.), just one night before the super showdown. All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand.
24/7 MAYWEATHER/MOSLEY will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access, along with in-depth interviews, as these fascinating personalities prepare for the first mega-fight of the decade. Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs), originally from Grand Rapids, Mich., is now part of the Las Vegas scene and has attained major celebrity status, while the quieter Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), who hails from Pomona, Cal., is headed for the Boxing Hall of Fame once he put the gloves away. No stranger to the bright lights himself, Mosley twice defeated Oscar de la Hoya.
This fast-paced show will capture the interactions and rigors the two fighters experience in preparing for their contest. Making his first "24/7" appearance, Sugar Shane will be trained by the accomplished Naazim Richardson. This is Mayweather's fourth time on "24/7," which previously chronicled his relationship with father Floyd Sr. and uncle and trainer Roger.
