Gabriel, mate . . . the attention to your prep before and during your paint jobs is perfect, and true to the real art of auto refinishing. I've said it since starting in the trade in 1979, prep is 95% of as perfect refinishing as possible . . . and today I'd say now it could be more like 98%. 2% is using a really good booth, choosing the right gun / setup, and putting the material on right, and yeah that's a lot of $ and years of experience too. Your channel really is a great learning resource for what I'd call top standard industry spray painters, and of course all levels of painter can benefit, even the home workshop enthusiast. If I ever get to Toronto way, I'll be sure to look you up and say g'day.

Cześć. Na innych filmach radzisz żeby malować elementy karoserii w pozycjach, w których będą zamocowane na samochodzie np. klapkę wlewu paliwa. Tutaj malujesz zderzak w pionie a zamontowany będzie w poziomie. To jest zamierzone działanie?

Thanks for another great video Gabe! Just did this color this morning in cromax solvent. I'm in the market for a new base gun. If you had to recommend between the tekna basecoat, matco hvlp, or the sagola 4600, which is your personal favorite? I look forward to more videos and tips 👍

Dear Gabriel, thank you so much for all these great tips. I found your video while searching for 46G tips in preparation for a full respray of my MX-5 with this color. I have a few questions, if you would be so kind to give me a few extra tips. I’ll be using solvent based Standox paint over primer. Should I let the ground coat dry completely and sand it with 1500 grit or just let if flash off and spray the mid coat right after that? You start your video by blowing and tacking the ground black coat. What did you do before that? I see a big difference in shade after the control coat in your test card, I’ll try that and see what it does with the solvent based paint. Did you spray any clear over the ground coat? Making the three stage paint job a four stage? Cheers, Luis

Hey Gabriel ive got a question for you. Why is it you didnt put the fender on the car before you painted and blended the panels? Im not a painter, ive done a lil bit of my own stuff just curious why you did it that way just trying to learn a lil more about blending panels.
@thedirtyyharry6 жыл бұрын
Corey Cripps because they are new panels they need to have a wet on wet (sealer) applied to them. Also the edges need to be painted and would be inaccessible if the panels were on the car, doesn't affect the blending hope this helps 👌
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS6 жыл бұрын
Hey brother so instead of waiting for the prepper to jam the new fender we set it up so that i can do it in one shot, you just have to make sure you do the same on the vehicle and the parts :)

Have u ever try using a fender stand, they are very useful and can be rotated in to 90 degree angle in case you smash clear on it really wet. It comes in handy when you have sharp lines or side markers holes like the fender you panited, to prevent the clear to run on you. Kind of the same way u did on the bumper at the end to prevent the run from it to became worst.
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS6 жыл бұрын
Thanks my bro ! Will do !

Hey Gabriel if you taped the gass lid to the side of the car to paint and clear to get a better colormatch would a fenderstand be any different (just like the lid like the fender )just wondering cause wouldn't the layers of clear create a deeper effect (swimming pool affect)
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS6 жыл бұрын
Yuppers if you apply to much clear yeah I would be more concern with base laying down differently not so much the clear

It does not work with Axaltas Cromax Mosaic paint. We did 2 black sprayout cards. Put quick check on 1 and clear on the other. Quick check was ugly washed out and gray but the cleared one was black. The difference was amazing. The Axlata rep said trough that crap in the garbage!
