The Mazda RX-7 FC3s is a front/mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive (RWD), sports car that was manufactured and marketed by Mazda from 1985 to 1992. The second generation of RX-7, known as the FC, was offered as a 2-seater coupé with a 2+2 option available in some markets, as well as in a convertible bodystyle. Mazda wanted to create something that would appeal to the American market, as that is where the majority of the first gen’s sales were. The design team used the Porsche 924 and 944 as a basis for the FC as they were two of the most popular sports cars around that time.
The FC was available with a 1.3L 2-rotor Wankel engine (13B code), offered in naturally aspirated or turbocharged forms. Power range was from 146 HP to 200 HP as standard with some exclusive models reaching 215 HP.
