UK 2016 Mazda 3, 2 litre 163bhp...6.5 years and still cruising... absolutely love my Mazda.

Awww what!? How'd you get 163 bhp from the 2.0? I've recently bought a 2016 3 but it's limited to 120bhp, none of them produce more than that, did you do the engine unlock mod? Or was it a different model where they let you have that extra zoom zoom?

@@LupusInfernum Ah right, weird, I mean I love my 3 nonetheless, but never seen one advertised as more than 120. Would love to get around 165 from it, would really do the looks justice! I know the 2018 onward 3 you can get one with that power. (Sorry to bring you back to a comment you left over a year ago too! =p) Edit: Just did some googling, and found the one you've got, it's like the high end one, and has an electronic handbrake? Think it was the start of the facelift version of the 2013 - 2018 3, really nice!

@@ben4190 no electronic handbrake, I have a physical one. I got the 2013-2016 Mazda 3. They did a model refresh from 2017-2019 with a sleeker trim and an eBrake bring the main difference.

I watched this video in 2012 at the car dealership when I was like 10, the only thing I remembered was the gorillas. (I drive the same Mazda 3, that my parents bought from that dealership, today)

Mazdas gas engines are truly amazing. Not the electric bandwagon that in itself hasn’t been great for the environment. But it took the proven technology and improved it nicely. My parents got into a 21 CX5 and it is a great CUV.

I love my 2017 mazda 3, it has around 100 hp, but boy o boy duz it drive like race car. Every turn is satisfying

You missed out the part about the intake valves caking up with carbon from the exhaust gas recirculation and oily air from the crankcase. Leaving owners with an expensive service bill after a few years! Direct injection to the cylinder may be more efficient, but means there's no fuel flowing over the intake valves to keep them free of fouling.

Better fuel economy is great, but if most sales are suvs instead of sedans and hatches then not much actually changes in terms of emissions 🙄👍

Mazda stopped production of the 6 sedan due to sales. This was one of the best cars produced by them. I would love to get one of the last ones with low miles.

This engine will get carbon built-up issues in the intake valves

I’ve had one for 3 years an 30,000 miles an no issues, direct injection is known for this but Mazada has been really good with valves getting gummed up.

@@gtibruce toyotas usually get that issue because manufacturers are recommending oil changes at 10k miles which in that point the piston components that prevent oil from getting burned gets gummed up. Oil changes should ALWAYS be changed from 3k-5k miles depending on if you use the car often for short or long commutes. Also for any direct injection engine, consider putting in a oil catch can.

@@Weebwhacker Yes, thanks, im aware of that, but my question was about the 1.5 Mazda 2 engine does it burn oil like the Toyotas or does one not have the same concern of frequent oil change's like we didn't have with older cars. Is it yes or no?

They say most engines waste 70 percent of their fuel and then say about huge percentage gains in friction ect but yet this engine still is only 30 percentage efficient 😂 turns out friction only accounts for 5 percent of fuel consumption so even if a 50 percentage improvement is made that equals 2.5 percentage overall efficiency improvement

terrible compared to a car? or SUV. Mazda is top of the class for fuel economy currently in the SUV range

Hmm interesting maybe I drive to sporty but I stand by my statement it’s terrible on fuel compared to anything it’s a great car I love it just bad on fuel plus it’s hardly a suv in reality it’s the same size as any large sedan just higher off the ground
