I remember reading about this in the Canadian Press but I never heard the story from Irish lips. This movie gripped me from beginning to the end. Every part impeccably played. Makes me proud to be Irish.

@@brianwicks-lr5iv People like you, really are a problem, you know absolutely nothing about this history, yet you want to talk, like you do, so do explain, what's that all about? You also claim someone, making a valid point, is ignorant? While clearly, you're the ignorant one. Well, apart from the other clown, that made this original comment. As someone that did waste much of my youth achieving a Master's in comparative politics & economics, and a Bachelor’s in Anglo/American history, I find it astonishing that we endlessly read many Irish believing the English crown had no rights on those lands in Ireland? While the history is all so freely available, for anyone to look up, and to study? It was the King of Leinster, Dermot MacMurrough, who was deposed by the High King of Ireland, Rory O'Conor, In 1167. Dermot MacMurrough then solicited help from King Henry II of England, offering him lands In exchange for his military help. He also gained the military support of the Earl of Pembroke, known as "Strongbow", only Strongbow was not recognised by Henry II, as he'd been deprived of his title of Earl, for siding with King Stephen of England, against Henry's mother, the Empress Matilda. But Dermot MacMurrough, had also promised Strongbow the hand in marriage of his daughter Aoife, and the right to succeed to the Kingship of Leinster. So, on learning this, Henry II then mounted a larger second invasion in 1167, to ensure Dermot MacMurrough kept to the deal of land for that critical military help, (plus to maintain his control over Strongbow), and that resulted in the "Norman Lordship of Ireland" (look it up). Dermot MacMurrough was also seen in Irish history, as the king that invited the first Anglo-Norman settlers to Irish lands. So all these historical propaganda lies, we still hear endlessly, are really just pointless. England had every right to those lands, because it fought for them! That's that actual history! As for, the Irish war of independence, in Ireland? Well, that ended with a truce on 11 July 1921. The conflict had reached a stalemate, and the initial breakthrough that led to the truce was credited to three people: King George V, Prime Minister of South Africa General Jan Smuts and David Lloyd George. The truce resulted with the "Anglo-Irish Treaty", and that allowed Northern Ireland to opt out of the New Free State, if it wished, (which it duly did on 8 December 1922, under the procedures laid down). Largely because those in the North, saw the brutality of the Catholics in the south, and they wanted nothing to do with those in the South (as it's still today). A new system of government was created for the new Irish Free State. But it was, a hardline group of Anti-Treaty, IRA men, that occupied several public buildings in Dublin, in an effort to bring down the treaty and restart the war with the British. (Your heroes). But desperate to get the new Irish Free State off the ground, Michael Collins attacked the anti-treaty militants in Dublin, causing fighting to break out around the country. This led to the civil war, in 1922, over the Anglo-Irish Treaty, that was waged between the Provisional Government of Ireland, and the anti-Treaty Irish Republican Army (IRA). The Civil war carried on until mid-1923, and cost the lives of many of the leaders of the independence movement, notably the head of the Provisional Government Michael Collins, ex-minister Cathal Brugha, and many others: total casualties have never been determined, but they were much higher than those in the earlier fighting against the British. The Irish Free State tried to unify Ireland, and they failed completely, with the North of Ireland wanting nothing to do with them in the South, and they insisted they remained as part of the UK, as they still do to this day. People, many uneducated people, always forget the North, it is them who insist they remain part of the UK, not the UK, insisting they remain part of the UK. Plus, pre to that history, it was many Irish who were invading English sea towns, sacking villages, raping and pillaging then burning them to the ground, we still have many old records of such invasions, in many church village archives. That was many years before any Englishman had ever put a foot in Ireland. We also read many Irish, claiming they were treated worse than slaves. While the facts, (anyone could merely look up for themselves)! Are, that some Irish became indentured servants, in the 17th century, in the West Indies, namely Barbados, there's a huge difference between slavery, and indentured servitude. Indentured servitude is voluntary work, that was taken up by impoverished Irish people, who wanted to resettle in the US, at this time. Workers signed labour contracts, for up to 10 years, in exchange for a trip across the Atlantic, for shelter, and food. The Irish slave trade, (that never took place, or ever existed), was merely a propaganda account, in a book called the "Forgotten White Slaves", by John Martin. So, rather than merely typing juvenile rubbish, why not get an education?

So sad Ireland turned their backs on Israel. This is not where you want to be bcz God says those who curse Israel will be cursed. Ck out history. Not one people, tribe, land, or nation who has come against Israel has survived. But those who bless Israel now they shall be blessed. This is the reason Israel is the key to Americas survival. PS 122:6, Gen 12:3, Is 40:1

The country that's called Israel in the land of Palestine and the people therein, are not the Israelites of scripture. They themselves tell you this many places one of which being the 1925 Jewish Encyclopedia which states "modern Jewry is Esau Edom". Esau (Edom) was hated by Yahuah. I wonder why Ireland and many many people from all over the earth are not supporting them... could it have to do with something they're doing? One word, starts with G. The vast majority of people on this earth are in need of a serious history lesson that actually involves the truth. If you would sincerely like to learn the truth, I can gladly steer you in the right direction.
