OK, fun fact though: ovens actually broke modern physics for like 20 years. There's a SciShow video on it, I don't remember the specifics but basically at the start of the 20th century there was a big uproar in the scientific community because all the established laws of physics and thermodynamics were violated in experiments done using common household ovens. It took the invention of quantum theory and relativity to explain how ovens work.

I hate this because when they're talking about mythical creatures it's got some degree of historical realism cause medieval scholars were working off of secondhand, poorly translated accounts from people who didn't have the greatest description skills. what I'm saying here is that the questing beast is a giraffe and I am not accepting criticism at this time

I think lava's real, but it's unrealistic how the lava is melted in the movie but not the rock it's being held in. Even if the rock holding it had a higher melting point, why wasn't that rock like, really really hot.

it's kind of silly to deny unicorns. there's no reason something in the goat family can't just have its horns grown together. all you have to do is a little surgery and they totally do that.

1st point: You'd think at least 1 of the brothers would have made glass or seen it being made. Hell Travis is sword enthusiast and never thought of the corolation between molten steal and lava? 2nd point: The deeper down you get in a cave the hotter it gets. Hell minig so far down that it becomes unbearably hot is a real concern. I know they're mostly joking but still

Yeah like, they're definitely exaggerating the gaps in their scientific knowledge for the purpose of comedy, but as someone who's personally very invested in science as well as fighting the spread of misinformation it's much less funny for me than it is irritating. It doesn't help that they've done multiple bits like this as well, such as the one about snails / slugs / hermit crabs. Part of me just feels an urge to explain to them everything wrong with what they're saying, but then I have to remind myself it's a comedy podcast, and there's no way they're genuinely this dumb.
