I think they’re referencing atlas shrugged, the book by Ayn Rand, whose “ politics” heavily inspired bioshock’s story, what with Andrew Ryan sharing her objectivist philosophy, and Atlas getting his name from said book.

It's actually kinda crazy how at first they had "McDonalds Land" filled with all sorts of characters and animals, a whole fleshed out lore for McDonalds... And now it's just Ronald, sans pessimistic dog, visiting sick and dying kids in hospitals. Like what did we do as a society to get from a themed world to a defunked clown visiting depressed and sick kids in hospitals

Combination of Supersize Me, growing knowledge of the unhealthiness of fast food, and the fact that the creators of McDonaldland... genuinely, actually ripped off the creators of H.R. Puffnstuf. The wiki said McCheese was removed because of "streamlining," but it was actually because the creators of H.R. Puffnstuff sued McDonald's for bringing them on to make McDonaldland, telling them they changed their mind and weren't doing it, and then doing it anyway without paying them.

i was born in ‘97 and i VAAAAAGUELY remember mcdonaldland, it was like a fictional mcdonald world??? it’s where you got like, all the Main Characters of mcdonald (grimace, the hamburglar, etc), and i also super vaguely remember there being like a cartoon but it may have just been a cartoon short they played at their playplaces idk, i guess they’re phased out now tho so
