"Man, we gotta go to Spangles tonight. They got 99 cent screwdrivers!" "Yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll die if we go to Spangles. 99 cent screwdrivers should be illegal."

Just wanted to say, since COVID hit, they do actually sell margaritas at the drive thru now. Not the 99 cent ones (I guess that's a bridge too far), but they have 32 ounce ones for 2.99

Theeeee FUCK you say?! I mean, tell me that at least they hand it to the passenger with the cover story that it is for them, not the driver?
@Godkarmachine2 жыл бұрын
@@MoonShadowWolfe They seal them inside a plastic bag. As long as the bag stays sealed, it's not considered an open container.
@sorio992 жыл бұрын
@@Godkarmachine Now, legally, that does cover them, but ethically, I would say that’s about on the level of “my newborn baby will be fine on this motorcycle with the keys in, it’s turned off!”

Y'all Houston has had drive-thru daquiris for ages. If you ever visit definitely go through and grab some.

"The world's first drive-thru margarita window" the Mcelroys have never driven thru southern Louisiana I see.

I was so shocked when I saw one of those for the first time (I’m in Mississippi but we’re like, 20 mins away from Louisiana so there’s a lot of crossover lol), like the fact you can not only do that but straight up (at least where we are) drive around with open cups of daiquiri slushes without breaking any laws

@@MissMystery1412 i mean technically driving while drunk reaquires you to be drunk and for many one drink ain't gonna do that

My mom and I actually have a joke about Spangles. Their tag line is "Spangles: It Just Tastes Better!" It'd be a pretty good tag line too if it weren't a painfully mediocre restaurant. We call it Spangles: It Just Tastes Like... Food, I guess

My mom's side of the family is from Kansas, and this sounds exactly like a joke my grandma would make. I appreciate the midwest panache 😂

Oh my god, that sequence at the end, with Griffin reading the quotes, is so uncanny, and highlights so well how buckwild and unhinged this whole “press release” really is.

3:49 as a former New Orleans resident I can confirm that there are drive-thru daiquiri stands
@banannarama6 ай бұрын
I emailed them but idk if they ever saw, but shortly after this program launched Spangles DID in fact introduce a drive-thru option, the only thing stopping people from drinking while driving was a piece of tape over the straw hole.

This is why the whole rebrand of fast food to "QSR," is a problem. Now fast food places are looking at actual restaurants as their direct competitors. Like... no, Spangles. Not a god damned other fast food joint is serving alcohol. You're breaking worrisome ground, here, not keeping up with competition
@Silverwind873 жыл бұрын
Can we do this in reverse? Like, Olive Garden but fast food? Actually, I think they tried that once with breadstick sandwiches.

A popular "Mexican" chain in my area started selling beer, and I feel bad for the employees. Like, not regularly dealing with drunks or worrying about cutting someone off was probably one of the perks of working at a fast-food place, but not anymore.

While those are legal in some states, in a lot of states brew-thrus would be extremely illegal. I only know about them because the state I live in allowed a loophole back in the 80s or 90s but after a single drive thru bar opened they changed the law. You're not even allowed to buy alcohol in my state on Sundays before noon.
