The first thing I did when I got my truck home was to remove the steps. If they were 4 inches lower they might be useful. I like your idea of the Amp Research retractable steps. Function first then form.

Amen ! I ordered a 21 in June. When I took it for a test drive I couldn’t get in and out of it comfortably. It felt so strange. The first thing I’m going to tell the dealer is to takeoff the driver side. I like the look of them so I’m going to leave them on the passenger side. No one else will ever know. And us old guys like chrome, I wish the back bumper was chromed and not body color… LOL Love your content, subscribed.

I just got my windows tinted a few days ago on my Canyon. Saving up to get a 6” rough country lift kit.

I also have an All Terrain X Canyon, and at 6'3" I know exactly what you mean about the side steps. I had the same issue, and took them off. GM sells a "Rocker Bar" that's the same as those steps minus the parts that stick out. I got a set on mine retain the same look, and keeps the road grime and rocks from kicking up under the cab sides.

Keep your step rails, they'll save your seats (Seat savers). Helps from sliding in and out.

On my 2021 Escalade ESV the power side steps are a terrific addition. On my new 2023 AT4 the high side steps are awful. No function except to jam your ankle exiting the vehicle. Helpful getting in but not necessary.

I park out and saw others park out too and got door dents first week I got mine!

Are you planning on lifting it. The steps look good when lifted.

I wouldn't wrap anything else, I think the gloss black looks nice with the satin. I use the side steps getting out-not getting in but my daughter and wife both appreciate having them there to get in.

Came across your channel looking for Canyon Mods and I'm loving it so far! I have a white 18" Canyon SLT with a RC 4" Lift and 20" Moto Metal 970's. Currently, I'm sitting just shy of 5" up from stock. Get a lift... then you will be about the height of a full size then those Nerf Bars will be the first thing grandma hits when she opens her door!!..LoL

I just bought a 2wd 2021 Colorado that has the same steps. My issue is getting out and stepping over them. I'm going to likely remove them. But I do like the idea of door ding protection...I don't know ARGHHHH! haha. If mine was a 4x4 I'd leave them and most definately REMOVE the fugly air dam. Do it!

That , "Bend and snap into the truck." Seemed very effortless to me. The point to not to slide in and out off of the seat saving the seams and the leather from ripping over time. Id keep them for that reason.

Does anyone got some side steps laying around for 2016 gmc canyon ?

I’m 5 ft 9in and have a 2019 Chevy Colorado. If you decide to get different steps on the side of yours I would buy these off of you as I could use them. I’m short and Italian lol. My Colorado did not come with them it’s an LT model. I’m in NJ if you’re anywhere close. I was looking at the rough country nerf steps similar to these. Edit: NM I see your plate says California shipping would be ridiculous and I just got to the part where you said you like how it keeps doors from hitting it.

I use tyger Star armour running’s boards for this very reason. I just traded my 10’ Sierra for my new to me 16 Silverado and my old running boards had half a dozen songs along the side from doors. Needless to say my tyger armours for my 16’ are on their way.

I like the side steps on my colorado. So does my 4’10” wife 😆

took mine off and put black powder coated bully steps on..100% better looking in my opinion.

You're not supposed to stand up upright on the running boards and then get in. You're supposed to lean into the truck while you step up into it.

I'm not tall. I need the side steps so I don't look like i'm climbing a hill 😂
