This is a week 1 video. Keep that in mind if you're watching later on into the game's life.
This video covers most of the semi-decent routes I could find for Akiha. It's a little hard to discuss character strengths and weaknesses this early in the game's life, but all I can really tell you is that you should probably spend the meter to get proper knockdowns for her.
About Akiha's "unblockable" setup:
You whiff cancel 236B into the command grab causing a situation where the opponent gets grabbed if they don't react or if they crouch block/shield. If they jump the grab, they end up blocking the wheel and you can confirm easily with any ground normal. All ground normals are air unblockable, but 3C might be recommended.
The opponent can beat this setup with a jump shield or by mashing to not let her throw the wheel.
I also wanted to put in some basic bich blockstrings as well, but I started to get tired while trying(failing) to optimize all of this stuff in this video. You can force pressure extensions in the corner with 236C and then jump on the opponent with sum high-low mixups.
4B+C also seems like a very strong tool. It's air unblockable, a high and jump cancelable on block. It gives an easy confirm anywhere on the screen if you land it raw. It misses crouching opponents at close range, but it's kind of scary in the corner if you know when to use it.
Anyway.
Probably playing Akiha for life but I might pick up Ciel next. We will see.

Watching these again, you should trade the 22C for 236C ender if you can. You'll get better oki and can set up anti shield pressure more easily.

Is it me, or does Akiha have to work twice as hard and spend much more resources to get decent damage?

Keep in mind that all the combos in this video are from 2A or 2B starter. But she seems like she's not really a high damage character though. She's strong in the corner though

@@SuperBKBrent hmmm...yeah, so she works hard for average damage and most of her setups can be shielded. Damn.

Try to hit the jump Cancel on the first hit

@@renhinanai from what i experimented if you use A as your starter the tech time shortens a fair bit. Much easier with B or C as your starter. They wont tech out as easily.

I can’t barely even land it in slow motion. I see no jump cancel animation from op so I’m confused, it’s as if he does it all in 1 frame lol
