Reptile is just one of those Types where you go 'Wow, this would totally busted with the right cards!' , then realize 'Oh _wait_ , Konami won't be releasing them until they nerf everything that makes them broken' and get all weary and disappointed.

No Bishbaalkin combo? You can easily synchro into the mathmech lv8 and synchro it with an ogdoadic lv8. Then use your tokens and bishbaalkin to go into reprodocus, call reptile, make reptillianne link and search 5, then go Hydra later in combo to draw 5.

not gonna lie... looking at that list... really hurt my bones as a long time reptile player I love you MBT, I support your weird deck building in stuff like ghostricks, but not sure I can side with ya on these ratios.

God I've loved playing this deck, fun rank 4 & 8 engine and can actually use bishbalkin well. And the cosmic slicer/alien kid combo is funny. You can use geomathmech into bishbalken with echidna and hydra to search and draw 5 to draw into other interruptions to make up for how bad the deck is

Ogdoadic is somewhat playable paired with reptiliannes, especially now that we got the continuous spell. The deck got a lot of sick combos using unusual old synchro support (Debris Dragon for the win). It's the alien part that's super bricky, and really not worth playing !

Reptiles, one of the types with some of the most busted support in the entire game that never does anything because there are next to no good monsters to take advantage of it. If Snake Rain and Water Lily would send literally any other type, they'd have been abused and banned years ago.

I love how harpies feather storm is a legal card. Because getting Azathothed on your own turn is just so fun and fair

I love that reptilianne field spell. It's stealing effect is only useful to me if they have a level and you want to synchro or xyz, but the self destruction effect pairs fantastically with reptilianne gardna (since it searches on destruction).one copy of the searcher spell becomes a +3 before you even get to the synchro summoning.

Deck names like these snake pit bird up and kitchen sync are so cool

I keep looking at ogdoadic cards and thinking "wow, this would be a great engine" then my thoughts stop.

There are like 10 variants with some of reptile support that wasn't shown here but my fav that I've seen has to be one that used black garden against me,in the end it searched like 10 cards in their 1st turn!

I can't be the only one who wishes we could get some respectable Vennom support as I always enjoyed King and Queen plays.

I have never been so frustrated to see a DRNM. Dude had the perfect board for reptiles, and it got completely destroyed by one unsearchable spell.

You should play Planet Pollutant Virus, even just at 1. Searcheable off Pincer, it tributes an alien monster to destroy all your opponent's monsters then places an A counter on all monsters your opponent summons for 3 turns, which kinda turns Pincer into a soft VFD. You also have lines with Coatl to make an early Savageborrel to protect yourself against handtraps or Chaos ruler to dump all your reptiles in grave. Agreed it's not as powerful as other combo deck right now, but even now it has ways to compete

I really like alien a whole bunch. It has so much good spell and trap support but it needs like 1 or 2 new monsters so badly.

it was painful watching him pitch the water lily over the kid. since the deck runs more than 1 kid, you could have kept water lily, and go off getting coatl and another spawn. there you could use coatl, go into zer'oll and get another kid from deck, then use water lily, to get send night sword serpent, summon coatl and water serpent, get melusine, and use spawn to make shocktrooper, then normal summon the kid you had in hand

There is a combo that’s super inconsistent but shut down your opponents effects for 3 turns.

I know this isn't your list, but since I've been playing this deck since it came out, for pure reptiles, this is nice. However, I would take out one buster for Zoha. It's a must have in any deck that uses ogdoadic. It's a recurable normal summon that keeps the deck online, and while its search effect isn't worth it or used a lot, there are moments you are kind of have no choice but to do it, but it can come in handy. Also maybe take out namia for planet pollutant virus in case you don't get to alien kid. Alien Dog I'm not a huge fan of, but it does have its uses. Take out one night sword serpent for Ogdoadic Serpent Strike to have another searchable target off of Nauya and can recur Zer'oll and Ogdoabyss from GY almost every turn (This is also tied to why I recommend Zoha every time for his synergy with Serpent Striker). Otherwise, I have no much to say, this list is nice. Sadly, pure reptile still isn't there yet, and is better off mixing other engines with it where the payoff is a lot better and it does some unique things to set itself apart from other decks.

Honestly the biggest thing is the moment there are good Reptile boss monsters introduced to the game we're likely gonna look at a tier zero format for a bit

I find myself hating you because you're absolutely, 100% correct on everything. I LOVE Aliens, Ogdo, Reptilianne... But they NEED a way to actively DO things - it would be fun if they had a way to quick synchro into Hydra for interrupting (not good, but fun) especially when paired with Melusine, or if Ogdos had any extra deck monsters and/or their playmakers didn't give your opponent free resources if they have anything in grave. Alien Control with Brainwashing Beam and stuff is such a potentially cool mechanic, but they have 1 searcher in their whole archetype, it's a link 3 and doesn't even search all of their best back row.

I really love the Ogdoadic archetype and how it has synergies with reptilianne cards, I just think the reptiles are cool, but like you said, unless we get a crazy boss monster in the extra deck, reptiles are just not going to be anywhere near competitive, much less rogue. Their boards are too easy to break, and Ogdoadic being the best abuser of Snake rain isn't saying much... I'm surprised you're not playing Ogdoadic Serpent strike, AKA Ogdoadic Flood, it helps unbrick your hand while being a monster reborn + foolish all in one card. I've been playing them in Master Duel to mild success with a Chaos engine, but we're missing the BODE Reptilianne support and the BACH Ogdoadic support card Flood/Serpent Strike.

Absolutely love Ogdoadics. They have a lot of cool things going for them that didn't get a chance to be shown off in this list but things like Nunu and any discard (does not have to be a reptile, literally any discard) makes DPE and Utopic Future Draco with the full engine available in gy for next turn. Their new spell in BACH is a revival spell and a foolish burial that'll fire most turn, gives the deck something to do with spare reptile as you can get rid of them for the bigger Ogdoads while also having a way to send things like Alien Buster on your opponents turn. Realistically, the best core for Ogdoads it most likely in some sort of Chaos deck, Snake Rain will set up the full combo as mentioned before but leaves extra material so you can make a Chaos Ruler on the route and then you can usually use the revived Ruler and a spare Level 8 Snake to make The Zombie Vampire for more mills and keep the Chaos Ruler out of the banish zone.

This deck is best analogized by a cheetah chasing an old car. Can it chase it down? Yup. Can it do anything once it does? Yup...get run over.

I actually play Ogdoadic/Reptilianne. Ogdoabyss is a nice bomb and king of feral imps allows for the reptile search. You can search for Nunu or Nauya and dump it to the GY to put more into the GY. The reptiles do truly need a couple of good payoffs though. There’s hardly any negates. I don’t know how this build truly works, especially playing against meta, but some of the good Ogdoadic combos aren’t in this list that help it go into more. I think it’s fun, but it does need help, but you’re probably right in saying that Konami shouldn’t print anything too strong for the archetype because of snake rain. Of course, they could always just … limited snake rain.

I tried to play a reptiple deck with Planet Pollutant Virus searched by Cosmic Slicer and than tribute an alien monster on the fiel during the opponents turn to activate the virus and lock all their monster under Cosmic Slicer.

If u did the bishbalkin combo you could search 5 pop 5 and draw 5... Playin 1-2 anti spell/ or watever else you need. Also alien pollutant virus

Honestly, Ogdoadic needs extra deck monsters and like an archetypical macrocosmos of some sort. They need some way to take advantage of some of the control options that the archetype has without literally giving the opponent free advantage. Plus, their starters are overly balanced to the point that you brick of you didn’t draw both Nauya and Nunu in your starting hand.

The only thing worse than your pronunciation of the name was how you played the deck. The major power of the deck is setting up big recurring interruption and then drag the game into a resource match that they always win. You play the reptilianne for the advantage of being able to draw and add a ton of cards.

Why do they always seem to have DRNM/droplet in hand turn 1? It's fishy that it seems to happen every time.

kid and dog aren't needed, I'd replace them with the 3rd Coatl and the alien trap that's just raigeki that also has all monsters your opponent summons gain an A-counter. That and a few changes to the extra is all I would make. You should be playing things like Ding, Sanaphond, and photon lord over then 2nd hydra, echidna and melusine.

This deck has a plus 17 (or more) combo with the tuner I think that’s a better direction if you’re getting nibiru might aswell do it with style. You could even start with the brave engine to protect it.

Konami is afraid making a decent payoff for reptile since they got one of if not the strongest GY setups card in the game. They can't make this type good unless they ban snake rain preemptively, or makes a reptile archetype that doesn't interact with GY at all.

Idk about you guys but i prefer the bishbalkin combo, you can end with apollousa of 3, alien lock with Planet pollition (and how do you NOT play a card that Is a raigeki+counter spam for 3 turns?) And draw 5 + add 5, if you cut out most of the alien stuff and the Pendulum snakes you end up with a decent consistency deck that goes into the link of the Aliens ti risolve the trap, sure you can get nibiru but even in this build so why not trying to go for a good endboard that can male you draw even handtraps, once i tried a list whoch had 9 handtraps so i think it's more worth the time. Still i Hope in some good cards for Snakes, maybe a different mechanic like idk Monsters that can Quick summon from the gy by tributing One Monster and than they have an effect like Fairy tail snow, but Snake Need serius support.
