WOW i had no idea that there were even any fresh water puffers. That is one very nice fish, and a beautiful tank. Looks like it says bolly on his side, its funny he looks all tatted up. GREAT video bro.

Where have ya been, dude! I've missed ya. Hope all is well over on your side of the world. I do not, nor do I anticipate ever keeping a puffer, but every time I watch one of your videos spotlighting them, your enthusiasm has me rethinking my stance. You're FINtastic, my friend. Hope to see more of these as we travel down the road of Life!

Hey Whip! Work has been CRAZY. 😵💫Thus a big reason for my recent absence. I'm working on another puffer video now as we speak. Perhaps it'll continue to push to rethink "never keeping a puffer". 😉

@FintasticFreaks Don't get me wrong, if I had a space like you do, I'd definitely have one, so "Never gonna keep one" comes off more harsh than intended. My issue is that I have space for 6 aquariums (7 if you count the 14g cube at the bottom of the stairs) and my indoor pond. That's it. The 210 has my New World's in it. The 120H has my Jaguar in it (and hopefully I can get the other Central Americans in there too once I have everything in place). The 90 is a community... sort of... with Electric Blue Acaras and Angels. The 65H is for species from India. One of the 150Hs is for species from Africa, again... sort of... considering the showcase fish will be a starry night from Madagascar. The other 150H is for the Silver Cichlid (Maskaheros argenteus) out of Mexico and hopefully my Red Texas. The pond is for my black arowana. And just like that, I'm out of space. There will be a 90 upstairs in the living room, but that's for my wife's flowerhorn, and I don't see him or her getting any tank mates.

Austin would you consider doing a video showing us how to set up a Brackish water tank and a video showing us how to perform dentistry on your puffers in a safe way for both you and your fish. Many thanks.

Not sure why I didn't see this sooner... But those are both solid ideas. May have to do that next time I set up a new brackish tank. :)

Hey soon to be new mbu puffer owner just wondering when it comes to changing out the water how should I go about that ? If you can could you make a video about how to properly clean the tanks out and replace the water ? Would really appreciate the help !

Geez he's gotten big! Wish I could keep one. Sadly I can't house a 500 gallon tank 😅.
@FintasticFreaks8 ай бұрын
Understandable. 510 gallons is literally like having a miniature swimming pool in the basement. 😆

Hey brother awesome video I’m setting up a 200 gallon tank at the moment and I’m actually debating on what kind of substrate to get, where did you buy your pool sand?

I got mine at Home Depot. They usually run about $10-$12 per 50 pound bag there.

Does the Mbu puffer need RO/brackish water or are they fine in tap water?
@FintasticFreaks4 ай бұрын
Mbus are pure freshwater puffers. Mine has done well in tap water, but mixing some water conditioners/decholorinators, or Seachem's Prime doesn't hurt when adding new water to the tank.

Quick question I kept my mbu in a above ground swimming pool 8' × 5' × 24" tall and he hated it sat on ground stopped eating until I put him back in a tank 150gal which is to small do they need the glass for viewing out the sides of the tank what's your thoughts I'm lost with this cuz now he's to big for the 150
