Jeez that nurturing voice, the non judging spirit and the calming presence. It's the true essence of an old school black woman or grandma energy. People don't like calling black women queen anymore but this is the definition of a Queen. This kind of vibe is where the definition came from when it was a common thing.

@DoctorAkinpelu3 жыл бұрын
People will always question a beautiful female’s sexuality when they thrive in a male dominated industry and don’t act in an overly sexual manner. She carries herself in such a professionally regal manner and is so articulate. Female rappers please take notes! Make us not only sound good but look great, my queens!👸

Ebro's questions were on point. When you step to a class act like MC Lyte, you better come correct. I must say, her presence alone lets you know that while she's all about business, she's extremely humble. Artists from this day in time know nothing about humility until they're broke. Keep movin' and shakin' Lyte.

I love her voice and I love her verse on "Self-Destruction" Funky fresh, dressed to impress, ready to party Money in your pocket, dyin' to move your body To get inside, you paid the whole 10 dollars Got _____ with a razor blade taped to your collar Leave the guns and the knives and the crack alone MC Lyte's on the microphone!! Bum rushin' and pushin, snatchin' and taxin' I can't understand why brothas don't be maxin' There's only one disco and they'll close one more You ain't guardin' the door, so whatcha got a gun for? Do you rob the rich and give to the poor? Yo, Daddy-O, school 'em some more!!

I enjoyed this interview so much I'm not even going to stroll down to read a single comment:-). I'm just going to savor the fact that this was the first interview I've seen Ebro do without constantly trying to turn the conversation sexual, or ask a bunch of dumb ass questions that have absolutely nothing to do with why the celebrity is there. A good clean conversation with only PROFESSIONAL level questions asked, and total respect shown all across the board... now if only this was the norm for ALL Hot97 interviews. #JobWellDoneEbro!!!
