“Piny Odiya” is based on a true story. The song tells a story about a young boy from Gulu who traveled for the very first time to acquire secondary education in the Capital Kampala, but he was stranded after being robbed of all school requirements by a broker of Buganda bus terminal in the capital.
In the post war northern Uganda after the conflict impacting negatively on school performances, many middle-class parents adapted a culture of sending their children for education in the central region schools and many of those students were faced by this challenge.
