Also approved K1 petitions are only valid for 4 months, so most applications that are sent back from the embassy with a revocation recommendation, by the time a decision for an appeal would be made, the petition would’ve have already expired and instead of receiving a appeal decision letter saying yes we will approve this petition again or no we agree with the embassy and will deny it, you will receive a letter saying the petition has expired and no appeal decision can be made on it.

❤thanks for the information. My fiancé K1 visa was denied at the Embassy level in Ghana based on one photo of our engagement rings. I have made an appeal with a lawyer,to the US embassy in Ghana,NVC,USCIS and my Governor. I have added many notarized letters from the jeweler and family, her pastor and have provided the future wedding venue that was booked to show we are not married. What is our chance of getting our denial overturned?

My fiance's k1 visa interview got denied and they asked for more information and resubmit more evidence. I think they called this the green paper more evidence to see if it's bonifide. I had a question if this gets denied can I Go to Vietnam and marry her there and then apply for a spousal visa. Someone said I had to wait two years for this. My case has been sent back to USCIS from NVC. Bcoz my father was my petitioner nd he passed away. My papers got approved this year in feb . I did upto my police clearance but left out with my medical. Will i get the visa. Immigration said they will make one decision thn let me knw. It has been 7 month now. Will the give me the visa.

You need to have met in person at least once in the two years before you apply for your K-1 visa.

Even after filling the K1 visa you need to have met atleast once, if you havent your visa will be denied on grounds of petition expired.

Lawyers are a waste of money, they don’t help or speed the process up. Actually, from what I have read, they sometimes hinder or slow down the process.

We just got a denial for k1 visa…. i am gay man from Thailand where same sex marriage is still not available…. In this case ,can we get married in third countries for applying CR1 visa? 🥹 neither Thailand nor USA we can get married.
