The dress looks so skimpy on the pattern cover. I never would have considered buying the pattern until I saw your super cute dress! Your dress is so flattering. Thanks for sharing!

Your cowl neck dress looks great on you. You made out well with this $2 fabric! Most of the Wal-Marts near me don't sell fabric. You remind me of my sister when she used to come home from shopping at the mall when we were teens. She would quiz my Dad and say "Guess how much I paid for it?" Fun times!😊❤️

Ack!!! You had me dying when you said that you used the binding as a band as well. It’s a really humbling experience right?!?! 😂😂😂 it happens! And cutting out those pockets wouldn’t make that big a difference. Love the pics and clips!

The dress is very cute, love the fabric. Some of Walmart's fabrics are pretty nice. I have several of the 4 yds for $4 dollars.

Can't go wrong with 2 pattern pieces and plus it's easy , what a bargain for just $2. I actually was looking at the Sicily slip dress pattern last week and thinking about getting it. I'll wait to see your review on that one because I do like the wide strap version of it. Hahahah, it happens to all of us with reading the instructions.

That fabric is so pretty. Go Walmart. So sorry that the pockets didn’t work out. I’m thinking maybe the pockets would’ve worked out if they had been cut on the bias too. Great make, Tee!

huh, i've passed by that mccalls pattern a dozen times b/c i thought it was a knit dress. i didn't realize it was meant for wovens. i want to make the sicily slip dress too! i finally found a strapless bra that fits me so i'm hoping to sew up the sicily this summer. i bet the pockets looked bad because of the bias. i have never seen a RTW bias cut dress with pockets before. how awesome that your dress only cost $2. that is amazeballs.

Hey Sarah! I'm sure that was the issue with the pockets as well. I have never had a bias cut dress but thought I would try it and it went bad lol. I'm glad you found a strapless bra that fits! You're going to look great in the Sicily Slip dress! And yes... Amazeballs for the $2.00 price!!
