McCRRR #18 with a Southern Pacific 6 Chime Whistle Again

The D&RG 5 Chime Whistle was deemed too loud, by the powers that be, so for now she has the the SP 6 Chime back, again! The #18 seems to have quite the following.

i didn't think the D&RG 5 chime was too loud. it actually sounded good as loud as it was on 18. but im only one person that thinks that. any whistle to me sounds better at higher pressure.

Who were the “powers that be” in this scenario? The railroad, the town, or the NIMBYs?

In Gold Hill & Virginia City there are a number of occupied residences quite close to the track where the train is blowing the whistle. The RR's management wants to try to keep a good relationship with it's neighbors.

@@Wiseguy1408I hate people like that. They move right next to an active rail line, know exactly what they're getting with that, and then piss and moan about the train horns and whistles. 🙄
