MOT! Thanks for the review. I think this is the best product we have released so far. About mounting companions, it totally can be done, and there is a sidebox on page 8 about it. The rules determine that you are within 5 feet of the companions for the purpose of rampage, but since you are mounting it, it would have disadvantage to attack you. Other than that there isn't much change. Something we did that you might like for mounted combat are the two articles by Willy on issues 1 and 4 of Arcadia! They are literally about "better" rules for mounted combat.

It's an excellent product for sure. I don't know how I missed that sidebar, but I'll be sure to brush up on it. I am probably going to chat with my player who has the Caviler fighter and see if they want to switch to something like the companion system - I think it'll improve the experience overall. I have Arcadia #1, but I need to pick up the other ones. I loved the mounted combat stuff (and the whole issue, heck) from the first one though. Thanks for the comment!

I have been thinking about a Changeling Beastheart Caretaker with a Mimic Companion. Where can I find builds or ideas on how to build a level 6-10 character that can do this and keep up with others in terms of above average damage per round & durability? I think this class is so creative & fun! Thanks!

I might check out the "Jumping on Mounted Combat" article in Arcadia 1 - it was the perfect fix for my Cavalier player.

I have that issue but I got it right when we started with these characters and it felt somewhat overwhelming. I really should look back at it for that player; I think you're right and it'll help 'em out.

@@ClassesandConstructs link to good multi-class Beastheart build ideas for damage/durability? Would be appreciated! Really want to try either Changeling with mimic for max infiltration, or centaur with mimic, where the mimic often mounts the PC centaur, instead of the PC only wearing the mimic-turn it on its head! Maybe Druid for wild shape on top of it all. Changeling BH/Druid multi, with a Mimic companion-can become pretty much ANY humanoid, wearing anything (mimic as clothing) and wild shape into any beast to boot!

Was thinking about a centaur BH with a mimic companion, where the mimic takes the form of a “paladin knight” (full suit of armour) mounted atop the centaur (rather than the PC wearing the mimic!) to really mess with the enemies head, as the centaur is multiclassed as a spell caster the Mimic is absorbing damage while Centaur PC maintains concentration! Maybe the centaur is a Druid who Casts a spell, then wild shapes into another mount, and covertly attacks with active spell (like call lightening) while the infamous “immortal ghost-knight” (mimic in form of a suit of armour with no wearer inside, spooking enemies) aggros, drawing fire and builds up ferocity points. ?

This is such a wild combination. I love it and I would have never thought of it.
