They use foam cups:p because foam can handle liquid a lot better then paper and even if the paper was slightly thicker the paper would still break with no effort unlike the foam cups they use which can take a bit of force before breaking

Plastic straws are banned here in the Eu (European union) since 2022 😢 maybe that's a reason for the paper straws

The problem is easy to get around drink a bit and then when ur not drinking it pull the straw up just so its not in the drink but dont pull it fully out of the cup
