Framestore is delighted to present '#ReindeerReady', a magical VFX-laden Christmas ad for McDonald’s. The 90 sec film - written by Leo Burnett and directed by James Rouse through Outsider - follows Santa on Christmas Eve delivering presents and enjoying glasses of milk and mince pies-a-plenty en route. There is, however, a lack of carrots left out for Santa's reindeer, making for an increasingly forlorn principal reindeer and an increasingly apologetic Santa. Realising that something must be done, Santa makes a pit-stop at a McDonald’s and grabs a sack full of carrots (packaged as 'reindeer treats' for inclusion in Happy Meals) for his hard-working team of flying reindeer, finally turning the reindeer’s frown upside down.

I thought my family was the only one who left carrots for the rain dear but I’m happy I’m not. Was it just me or did anybody else give Santa chocolate milk if they needed to buy regular milk but didn’t have time?

Indeed, and I can't help but to grin when the subtitles read, "Should be eaten in moderation and as part of a balanced diet." Indeed, even the reindeer need to watch what they eat as well! Ho-ho-ho! 🎅🤶

Fun Fact: Santa (my "old man") doesn't really feed carrots to his beautiful lady reindeer; HOWEVER, once Christmas Eve comes around the corner, we make absolute sure that we feed our magnificent "maidens" plenty of carrots! I swear, like "The Big Man" himself, the reindeer are VERY conscious about eating carrots because they DO have a lot of sugar in them! (Sound familiar?!) It's the same exact reason why my dearest and benevolent "Father" NEVER eats cookies UNTIL Christmas Eve as well! Ugh.....if I only my "mom" (Mrs. Claus) and I were that ungodly disciplined! We can't help it! Once a week or ONCE every other week, we indulge in sweets when we shouldn't! Ha-ha! Anyways, Happy Holidays! Ho-ho-ho! 🎅🤶

This is an amazing advert, by far the best... in my mind.. the score, nostalgic, the presentation of Santa... classic... the sleigh and reindeer, amazing... I want to see more footage of the sleigh that didn't make the final cut.... it's so realistic...

this makes me sad to realize not everyone leaves a treat for the reindeer. every year, I always leave out 4 cut sticks of celery, 3 whole carrots and a cut up apple. it makes me happy to wake up and see that the fruits and veggies are pretty much all eaten, along with the cookies and milk for santa of course.

That's a great idea, it helps to feed the reindeer & Santa because. They have a long night ahead of them. My guess this McDonald's was open late on Christmas eve.
