The US Open is the final Grand Slam tournament of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre. The 2023 US Open saw Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and USA’s Coco Gauff claim the men’s and women’s singles titles. It was Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam title and Gauff’s first Grand Slam title. The 2024 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 26 - September 8. In a real match John would lose in under an hour against the younger guys.John played in a era where all they do is volley and play at the net so that point suit him well. Players are playing alot from the baseline now so not use to volleying at the net often like this

Mac is just the most natural incredibly talented tennis player ever. I know there are probably 5 or 10 other players who are ‘better’ in terms of grand slams and longevity but Mac just had incredible charisma and skill even now.

@@daserdferkel7388 Yes. I’ve covered that in the original post. There are several ‘better’ tennis players. Federer Nadal Djokovic are in a completely different level in terms of fitness, training dedication etc etc. Mac was just a magician with a racket. I’m sure he trained and was committed but I can imagine him not ‘overtraining’. He was and still for his age a natural athlete and his fiery personality and skills were unique.

In terms of pure touch maybe.. but he lacked some power which isn’t just about strength but also rotation, pure ball striking etc.
