We compare 2 of the most popular McIntosh preamps, the C70 and the C2700. Both are tube designs with ostensibly similar circuits, yet they sound somewhat different.

Each of us listened independently, making sure that levels were matched. As always, this video is unscripted, and represents our personal thoughts.
The system we used was Roon playing Tidal, Lumin T2 Server, analog out to the preamps under test, and the 70th Anniversary all-tube McIntosh Mc2152 power amplifier driving the Sonus faber Serafino speakers. Cables were all Nordost Valhalla V2.
